Sunny Side of Swing w/live musicians @Cabaret du Lion d'Or (2013)

I wanted to tell the story of these two rap moguls from the past. Both were allegedly involved in each others' murders, and both coincidentally rapped about California shortly before they died. An East Coast versus West Coast feud erupted after these events. This track was made to honor both of these geniuses.

I fused together Notorious BIG - Goin' Back to Cali with 2Pac - California Love (and used some elements of some other Biggie tracks to get him to say/spell different things), along with my own music to tie it all together. Hope you dig it!!

Elite Force aka Simon Shackleton has been in the electronic music scene for well over 15 years from his early beginnings in a band (Headless Chickens) with the well known Thom Yorke of Radiohead fame to his early electronic music beginnings with Lunatic Calm. Elite Force is a true professional which has seen him tour on every corner of the globe and gather a large fan base over the years. 

This LIVE mix was recorded at the Breakspoll awards back in 2011, right around the time the Tech Funk Breaks genre was gaining momentum. Elite Force won 2 Breakspoll awards that night, one for Best Producer and one for Best Label (for his highly regarded U&A imprint). The mix itself is a great journey of breakbeat music and one of the stand out sets of the night.

The Grateful Dead one of the most iconic bands to step out from the Haight-Asbury neighborhood of SanFrancisco. A legendary following of "deadheads" followed the group during their extensive touring. led by the late Jerry Garcia the band had a distinctive sound with the likes of Bob Weir, Phil Lesh and Mickey Hart to name a few. The band placed 1 single in the Billboard top ten in their career, 1987's "Touch Of Grey". The band was inducted into the Rock-n-Roll hall of fame in 1994.
