Mike Spring’s output is broad. Follow the Netherlands-based musician and one day you’ll find a serene improvised acoustic gem like Himalayan Letter in your stream. A week later, you’ll hear one of his forays into reggae, rock, or piano-based pop.
What’s really impressive, though, is that nearly all of his uploads offer an opportunity for collaborating. Vocalists from across the world sing over his tracks while other collaborators layer instruments on top of his compositions. He then collects the results into sets which he reposts to his profile.

Soundclouder of the Day 04 June 2013 Thank You!

Yesterday I took my German nylon 3/4 sized acoustic guitar off my living room's wall and played a few notes. I stopped and took a small hand recorder and pressed 'record'.

In the background you can hear some noises every now and then. It is Anthea typing a letter. This is why I wanted to call this instrumental 'The Letter'. When she heard the mixed version however it reminded her of the Himalayas. I recognized what she meant so I decided to call it 'The Himalayan Letter' ...
