Don't tell a lie just cuz it rhymes
I tried to force it so many times

I say I love you, you say you love me too
what a nice couplet, but it's not true

I tried to fix it, tumbling hard against my chest
polish the edges so that it hurts a little less

I got a rock stuck in my shoe
so I decided to save it for you

It isn't pretty but it's complete
describing its contours to the soles of my feet

I wish that I could say something as true as that, well
