16 RABBIT - The Hunt

Michael has composed for many award-winning projects across live action and animation. Most recently he composed (as well as fulfilling the roles of Post and Sound Supervisor) for the Universal Pictures feature Carnifex, which premiered at Sitges International Film Festival and is due for release in Australia in December 2022.

He ran the music team for series one and two of the animated series Figaro Pho, which won Best Children’s Television at KidScreen New York, The Asian Television Awards and the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Awards (AACTA). Figaro also won the APRA Screen Music Award for Best Music for a Children’s Television Series and Best Sound in an Animated Short Film. He was also Head of Post for Figaro’s second season.

He was composer for the feature One Eyed Girl, which won the Jury Award at Austin Film Festival and released on Netflix worldwide. He has written for highly-esteemed productions including Tim Winton’s The Turning and for the feature film Rabbit (Sitges International Film Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival, Fantastic Fest), among others. Michael is a versatile composer who has worked with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, where he produced a dance remix of a section of Holst’s Planets Suite and is a former Composer-in Residence at Magpie Theatre.

He has recently worked in the immersive music space via Los Angeles mixing artists such as The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Eric Church and the K-Pop sensation KPP.
