I wrote this song after hearing a story from a friend about a guy who couldn't end a relationship because of superficial reasons.  Things like trips to Europe, dining at the finest restaurants, not to mention an impressive physical resume are all inducements a lot of guys couldn't refuse.  At some point he had to answer the age old question, "Should I Stay or Should I Go"?  And, of course, the answer is in the song.  Casey Blue is not someone's name, at least not their full name, but instead, a  particular shade of blue, "Casey Blue".

Sometimes we think we're going in the right direction, but the world tends to put up roadblocks for anyone trying to take a step forward.  Then we hear a little voice calling "Carry On".

The premise of the song is that many times we go through life thinking most of the things that happen to us are by chance only. But once in awhile we discover, usually well after the fact, that “this circumstance is not chance”.

I have a collection of songs I’ve written for and about my grandchildren.  This song was inspired by my oldest grandchild, Ben.  I think it’s a good example of the truth in the proverb “still waters run deep”.  I may be just a touch biased, but I think one day he’ll be quite a man.
