I much prefer this sound to the modern stuff. You would think that music would actually improve with time, production, technology, experience etc but 30 yrs on I definitely prefer the old drums machines, synths and vocal arrangements here. Production was very creative and I find it completely uplifting whereas with modern soul/funk songs I struggle to listen to the whole song because I usually lose﻿ interest after a couple of choruses with the odd exception.
