Matty Wright has been involved in music from an early age. Inspiration has been from the early rave and jungle scene, to the current sound of progressive house and breakbeat.
Production wise, Matty strives to incorporate the old school sound with modern influence and has had a plethora of successful releases on labels such as: Capital Heaven, Foxtrot Alpha, Prognosis, Critical Elements and Affiliate.

Located at the south end of Kingsland Road in Shoreditch, Basing House is an intimate, 300 capacity venue that opened in 2010. Basing House operates a late-license, opening each Friday and Saturday – with occasional Thursday events. A large volume of external promoters and labels curate the venues music programme. Basing House’s sound is supplied by Funktion-One and also features a roof terrace, which doubles as its smoking area. Friday and Saturday play host to house, disco and techno events.

Joachim Spieth’s musical career spans more than two decades, during which he has played many roles: DJ, producer, live performer, and founder of the esteemed Affin record label. His work is defined by an exceptional attention to detail and a keen sensitivity to creating immersive atmospheres, qualities that are evident whether in his studio productions or live performances.

In the early stages of his career, Spieth made notable strides through collaborations with Wolfgang Voigt’s Kompakt label. His contributions to the renowned Pop Ambient series, as well as a track featured on The Orb’s Back To Mine compilation, helped solidify his reputation within the ambient music scene.

A defining moment in Spieth’s career came in 2007 with the founding of his own label, Affin. Under his leadership, Affin has evolved into a respected international platform that brings together like-minded artists and fosters creative collaboration. Working closely with ambient artist Markus Guentner, Spieth has established a dynamic partnership that extends beyond music, with Guentner also contributing his artistic vision to the label’s visual identity.

Spieth’s discography showcases remarkable versatility, earning him recognition from both critics and fans. In addition to albums like Irradiance, Terrain, Overlay, and Retrace, his work has been reinterpreted by esteemed artists such as alva noto, Pole, Abul Mogard, Rafael Anton Irisarri, Dino Sabatini, Luigi Tozzi, and Claudio PRC. Through his Textures series, Spieth has also created a sound library that further emphasizes his commitment to sonic exploration and experimentation.

As a DJ, Joachim Spieth has performed in over 30 countries, sharing his musical vision with audiences worldwide. In recent years, he has developed a live ambient program, which has been showcased at prestigious festivals such as Up To Date (Białystok), Mostra (Barcelona), and the Ambientalny Festival (Wrocław).

The birth of Crossfade Sounds was spawned from Sound Avenue’s swift and far-reaching success. With the labels popularity surging countless producers from all over the globe began sending in their demo material for a shot at getting on the much hyped imprint. Being inundated with so much quality music Sound Avenue created Crossfade Sounds to have a platform to get more of it out to the electronic music community. At the time of the labels inception it was an imprint to not only accompany Sound Avenue but to explore different realms of the sonic envelope. Initially an outlet for deeper more atmospheric studio creations Crossfade Sounds quickly evolved into an imprint that is now renowned for pushing all spectrums of intelligent electronica. With a diverse artist roster that includes a healthy mix of tried and tested studio veterans along with hugely talented up and coming artists Crossfade Sounds is now widely regarded as one of the freshest electronic music imprints around. No compromises, just great music.
