The Modern Odyssey Vol.2 is a collection of 10 Original samples that journey into the space of Jazz, Psychedelic, Fusion and Soul recordings of the early 1970s era. All loops were processed, chopped & manipulated in a modern context that gives immediate inspiration and makes it easy for any producer to just drop in any DAW and start cookin up. This has been my favorite series on the library thus far because it gives me the freedom to take exclusive Jazz, Soul or R&B compositions I've made in the past and explore new ways of processing & manipulating them in ways that create unique tones, pitches and rhythms that can't be achieved thru analog equipment. At it's root every sample was recorded thru all my analog equipment that has grown over the years with vintage keyboards like the Rhodes Chroma, Roland RS505, ARP Solina, Fender Rhodes, Hammond B3, Pianos, vintage guitar amps, live vocals, mics including the Sony C37a, RCA Bx44, U47 Fet, EMT Reverb Plate, Ampex 440b + tons more. German-Filipino singer Ray Lozano teams up with UK alt R&B hotshot KeepVibesNear for remix single ‘Amsterdam Nights’, co-produced by Samon Kawamura (Max Herre, Joy Denalane). 

Ray's debut album Pairing Mode (03.03.) became a landmark for German-Asian (Pop) Culture and has been reviewed by Spiegel Online, BBC 6, WDR Cosmo and 1Live, just to name a few. 

Pairing Mode is composed of 12 musical short stories, in each of them Ray moves through a perspective on solitude. From longing for love to feeling contempt with yourself, disoriented, and then empowered again. Ray’s honest lyrics paired with her vulnerable, yet sophisticated and bold voice guide us through an emotional dreamy space found somewhere between heartbreak and hope. “Pairing Mode is like a collection of polaroid pictures. Or like a menu, composed of several delicate dishes” she explains, emphasizing that it is to be enjoyed with all our senses. Every track is “a moment that has been captured and is complete as it is.”
