My studio debut (4th project in 4 years) featuring Grammy nominated Benito Gonzalez (pianist with Pharoah Sanders, Kenny Garrett, Jackie McLean) joining my longtime trio on 3 tracks!

Recorded July 2018 right before heading to Spain for a yearlong master's with Berklee Valencia, this captures my band and I at our best yet in the heat of the moment, recorded at Omer Avital's basement studio Wilson Live in 100 degree heat with no air conditioning...recorded all old school, no isolation, no headphones! No tricks. Raw uncut, delivering a lot of original compositions and arrangements I had been workshopping with the band for as many as 4 years or as little as 4 weeks.

Now dedicated to George Floyd, Breana Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, all who have been killed by the police and everyone on the front lines fighting for justice and healthcare workers on the front line of COVID19.

Cosmic Blues is my third self-released EP under my home record label Solo Recordings.

The EP was mostly written during my solo road trip across Southern California. While travelling across the valleys, mountains, deserts and shores of California, I explored the possibility of connecting with the cosmos and decided to channel my vision through what is now Cosmic Blues.

"Cool" is a record that embodies a sense of acceptance despite the facade the world may present to you. When actress Eartha Kitt noted that compromising would in turn mean to lose one's own sense of self, she hit on this feeling of choosing reality over false pretenses. For me, "Cool" represents just that. No matter how much we outwardly portray things or how they're portrayed to us, reality will always be reality, and that's cool, that's whatever it is you make of it.
