Young Gun Silver Fox says they are making West Coast music, some folks call it yacht rock, some folks call it soft rock, some AOR, we just say it's easy on the ears. Andy Platts and Shawn Lee first started making music together back in 2012, since then they've released 5 albums including their newest release Pleasure! Before Andy and Shawn come to America for a couple of shows, they were nice enough to stop by our show! Doc, Andy and Shawn, talk about how the two got into music, what is special about late 70's music, the difference between yacht rock and west coast rock, inspirations for their sound, recording the new album together, touring and so much more! The Moon City Masters have been putting out music for the last 5 years, but Jordan and Talor Steinberg have been playing together for the last 20 years! They love music of the 70's and 80's and so the music they create has a neo-classic rock sound with a big splash of soul and funk! They're currently working on new music with Kevin Comeau of Crown Lands and they were nice enough to stop by the show! Jordan, Talor and Doc talk about basketball (and the lack of knowledge of basketball), seeing the Red Hot Chili Peppers, learning to play music, starting bands together, working on new material and much much more! The Doc G Show June 11th 2025 (Featuring The Moon City Masters)

The Stews started their musical journey as a band a mere 5 years ago. But in those 5 short years they've released an EP and two albums, and gathered a small army of fans. They have performed hundreds of shows over the last 3 years and are gearing up for more on their "Who's Hungry" Fall Tour. Preston Hall and Wyatt Griffith were nice enough to stop by the show and talk all about The Stews. Doc, Wyatt and Preston, talk about starting out in music, meeting at Auburn University, renting a storage place to play drums, the first band jam session in Wyatt's basement, recording the first EP, moving to Charleston, recording new music and much more. The Doc G Show June 18th 2025 (Featuring Wyatt and Preston of The Stews)

Sydney has been doing stand-up for over 20 years, ever since he was left shirtless and feeling cheap after a Destiny's Child music video model audition. Sydney has written for all kinds of great shows like The BET Awards, CBS's The Neighborhood, HBO's Game Theory and many others. He recently just released his first full comedy special "My Cup is Full" which was put out by 800 Pound Gorilla Media. To celebrate the release, Sydney was nice enough to come on the show! Doc and Sydney talk about his family thinking he should go to the NBA, getting into modelling, moving to LA, starting stand-up, starting comedy writing, winning Funniest Wins, spending a lot of money, working with Ali Siddiq, working with Bomani Jones, and of course his stand-up special. The Counting Crows have started their Complete Sweets Tour where they of course are promoting their new album Butter Miracle The Complete Sweets. Before they make a stop in St. Augustine July 19th they were nice enough to stop by the show. David Immergluck who has been featured on every Counting Crows album since the beginning stopped by to talk about his career. Immy and Doc talk about getting into music, hearing his brother's band practice, meeting Adam Duritz for the first time, recording August and Everything After, recording Accidentally in Love, getting compliments from Neil Young and getting to play with Santana! The Doc G Show July 9th 2025 (Featuring David Immergluck of Counting Crows)

Dan Tyminski has one of the most famous voices in the world. If you didn't hear his voice on the ultra famous Soggy Bottom Boys - Man of Constant Sorrow from the movie soundtrack for O' Brother Where Art Thou that sold 8 million copies, you probably heard him on Avicii's song Hey Brother that has been collectively streamed over 3 billion times. Dan is a world class musician, playing the guitar, mandolin and banjo, and after 14 Grammy's and 30 years with Allison Kraus and Union Station he's out touring as a solo act. Dan is getting ready to play the newly renovated Ponte Vedra Concert Hall on August 1st and he was nice enough to stop by the show before he plays the show! Dan and Doc talk about getting started in Bluegrass, learning to appreciate his singing voice, getting the job with Allison Kraus, getting the chance to work with George Clooney, singing at Ultra, recording solo albums, playing golf at Augusta National and TPC Sawgrass and much more! Myron Elkins had a very different life about 7 years ago. He was a fulltime welder in his hometown of Otsego Michigan. But thanks to the interest of Dave Cobb, he went from welder to fulltime musician real quick. Myron recorded his first album with Dave titled "Factories, Farms & Amphetamines", but not long after the record was released Dave stepped down from the record label, and the record label released Myron. But that didn't stop Myron from writing and recording a blistering sophomore album titled "Nostalgia for Sale" last month. Before heading off to Spain for some shows Myron was nice enough to stop by the show! Doc and Myron talk about playing in Spain, playing with Willie Nelson, getting started in music, being from Otsego, being a Detroit Lions fan, working with Dave Cobb, finding new places to record, working in Memphis, new albums and so much more! Steve Trevino has been doing stand-up as his career for the last 28 years! It hasn't been easy along the way. He had his first special in 2012 on Showtime called Grandpa Joe's Son. then in 2014 he funded his own special Relatable that he ultimately sold to Netflix. His most recent special Simple Man has racked up millions of views on Netflix. Over the last 28 years he's learned to tune out the "industry" and focus on making his viewers laugh. Steve is currently on the Good Life Tour and was nice enough to stop by the Doc G Show! Doc, Mike and Steve, talk about starting out in comedy, finding Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy, getting a showtime special, creating his own Netflix Special, going viral on social media, coaching his kid's sports, new special material and much more! UB40 is one of the most famous reggae bands in the entire world and they've been performing for over 4 decades! Jimmy Brown was one of the founding members back in 1978. They got their big break when they opened for The Pretenders in 1979. They hit international success with Red Red Wine and Can't Help Falling in Love. They're going across America with the Relentless tour, and before it started Jimmy was nice enough to stop by the show! Doc and Jimmy talk about time off from touring, weed in Humboldt county, Ozzy's connection to Birmingham, Stevie Wonder's impact on the band, touring with the Pretender's, recording their first album and so much more!
