Operating in the abstract regions of techno, Italian-born Berlin-based Marco Shuttle is known for his eclectic and experimental approach and his mesmerizing and narrative flow. What ties his creative work together is a focus on abstract yet organic textures, a sound which takes cues from jazz and musique concrète as much as it does from acid house and Detroit techno.

In this first hour of a longer session he shares his signature cosmic vision in a more relaxed listening setting, making it a very special, personal listen.

This recording is my love letter to African music, with focus on sounds from north and west Africa, spanning from 1950s to present and covering genres like gnawa, chaabi, rai, soukous or palm wine music.

I wanted to present the tracks I’m most obsessed with, drawn from the endlessly diverse well of African musical genius.
