Pedro Capelossi is becoming an essential pillar of TOR. With a knack for capturing timeless vibes alongside innovative melodies, the Brazilian is making some of the best music we've released on TOR thus far. His two EPs touch upon classic-feeling instrumentals with heady understated groove. As we gear up for another release from Pedro on our Tales of Romance series, he gives us a sense of his prowess behind the decks on the latest Selectors.

Flux is the presence of a force field in a specified physical medium, or the flow of energy through a surface. Flux is present in all fields, in all disciplines. Observable almost everywhere - it can be both a vector or a scalar quantity.

We are all in flux, in flow; moving forward, through obstacles. We overcome and we push through. Regardless of what's in front of us, we must move past it.

This is a mix of flow, a story with no boundaries. A sonic tale of flux, which doesn't follow a set path. This set has no playlist, the mood of the present sets what is next.

Flux [Session XVI]

Radio Show Focus on Krissky

In June, my friends and I rented a beautiful house near the water in Lake Tahoe. At the time, I had a lot stuff going through my head that I was trying to sort out and make sense of. So I ate some special treats, walked around the woods for a couple hours, hopped on the decks and recorded this set. I think this is the finest I've ever played live and the best mix I've released thus far.

When I started DJing a little over a year ago, I originally thought this little hobby was a technical skill, not an emotive art. The more I played in front of people, the more I quickly learned that building and understanding the emotional relationship between DJ and audience is just as important as track selection and mixing ability. In this case in Tahoe, I didn't have an audience (except my friends in the family room playing video games)…I was playing for myself instead of a crowd, so this recording is a direct representation of how I felt. Hence the title, "a snapshot of how i feel"

I've recently been reminded of the importance of space and solitude. Moments carved out to process, think, and be honest with myself. This mix is inspired by that recent reminder. It's designed to be heard alone, undistracted, and deep in thought. At least, that's how it resonated most for me.

This is a heady mix. Opening at 130bpm, toying with broken beats, and dodging the easy melodic hooks (with some exceptions, of course), I worked to step outside my comfort zone, which was as much challenging as it was artistically satisfying.

I do hope you enjoy it, but to be fully honest, this one's for me...
