Today I visited the beach and noticed subtle movements in the sea wrack along the shoreline. I inserted my soil microphones – crafted by the wonderful David Stalling of Stille & Klang – into the damp clusters of eelgrass and seaweed. Beneath the surface, a hidden world revealed itself through sound: delicate crackles and rustling textures, as tiny creatures carried on with their lives.
A small moment of coastal life, amplified.

The Xita Korean Market

De zomereik (Quercus robur) herbergt meer dan 400 soorten organismen waaronder veel insekten. Al onze inheemse soorten vleermuizen zijn insekteneters en weten de zomereik goed te vinden. Hier hoor je een paar dozijn bosvleermuizen (Nyctalus leisleri) jagen rond twee grote zomereiken op een windstille zomeravond. Af en toe landen ze op een blad, vermoedelijk om iets te pakken, en daarna gelijk weer verder te vliegen.

The common oak (Quercus robur) is home to over 400 organisms, including many insects. All our native bat species are insectivores and know how to find the common oak. Here you can hear a few dozen Leisler’s bats (Nyctalus leisleri) hunting around two large common oaks on a windless summer evening. Every now and then they land on a leaf, presumably to grab something, and then fly on again.

Créée pendant le pont de l’Ascension, ce montage sonore démarre sous l'eau et nous invite à grimper progressivement jusqu'en haut des cimes des arbres. D'abord aquatiques, les animaux que l'on entend deviennent peu à peu terrestres puis aériens. Une autre vision de l'ascension.

Une réalisation sonore de Léa Chevrier effectuée lors du stage « enregistrer le paysage », avec Marc Namblard du 26 au 30 mai 2025 à Hérisson.

Une ville quelque part en France. C'est un geste de tendresse pour la vie, la poésie du quotidien dans ses infinies variations, ses mille détails. Une pièce qui épouse la forme, la rondeur des jours dont parle Jean Giono. Dans ce cycle, à contre-courant de cette volupté, surgit l'anormal, l'arythmie quand le quotidien n'est plus possible.
