Since 2006, Cityfox has honed the art of taking over spaces and infusing them with bone chilling high-end sound systems, and detailed decorative pieces that together, transform an evening of music into lush sensory experiences that captures the soul of their growing vision.

Their work has culminated into an amazing party series called "The Cityfox Experience." The quality of the music you can find at their events is reflective of the music they release on their label. Lee Burridge, Audiofly, Adriatique and MANDY are some of the artists that have all contributed to the overall sound Cityfox is known for.

This month, we explore the concept of anicca, the Buddhist word for impermanence or change. The mix weaves through sounds that are bombastic vs modest, dark vs light, groovy vs trippy, haunting vs heavenly, and so on...My approach to DJing is to keep sounds and feelings in a constant state of flux, never getting stuck in a single place. I believe a well-crafted mix is a metaphor for life: anicca, anicca...constantly changing, changing...

Live at Piknic Electronik 2014

The My Definition of Chill series, which has always been the purest public expression of my taste in music, has exceeded all expectations I ever had for it. What began as a playlist of songs I liked to listen to at the end of the night has evolved into a soundtrack of my life. The reaction from those who have let me know how this series has been a part of their lives has touched me deeply and I appreciate every story and word of thanks I have received. Thank you for sharing and letting me be a part of your life.  

The inspiration for Vol. 7 Brazil started out as a series of unintentionally ignored emails and eventually came around to the formation of a new friendship, an incredible journey to Brazil, and what I hope will be a long term musical partnership based on a love of similar music and now this mix. 

I have to thank my good friends Ricardo and Fred from the Peninsula Beach Club Hotel in Bahia, Brazil for having the vision to bring me in as resident DJ for the New Years holiday and for sharing with me their slice of paradise. It was truly a pleasure to play for a group of amazingly beautiful and friendly Brazilians and the vibe continues to inspire me. 

This mix goes along with Party People 7 Brazil Edition. Different mood with the same inspiration. Thanks for coming along for the musical ride. You can find the complete tracklist posted on Facebook.
