Spectateur is an electronic music producer and beatmaker from Nantes, France.
He has been de He has been developing his uniquely eclectic sound for more than 15 years now,
alongside the release of and participation in several musical projects. As a versatile
creative, he can relish in trip hop and ambiant atmospheres before jumping out into
more bassy and percussive productions, also explaining his affiliations with a carefully
diverse group of collectives, such as the beatmakers of Tour de Manège or the French
Touch Connection, and even the transatlantic Hip-Hop project By Pass, a collaboration

between mc's and beatmakers from Austin and Angers.

After several Eps, Spectateur released his örst album « Yateveo » in 2016, a örst long form
peak into his universe, distributed with the support of « The French Touch Connection »
(TFTC). The year after, he returns with his second LP « Their dreams » making his mark as
a beatmaker to be reckoned with, thanks to a more diverse and complete project.
His music is a reøection of his lifestyle, open to the outside world, ölled with music from H
around the globe as described by the title of his 2018 project « Traveling Vol. 1 ». He is
now in preparation for the release of his new album « Nocturne », the most recent

project to complete his fruitfull body of work.

The electic nature of Spectateur's work has allowed him to perform all across France, his
home country, but also in Canada, the US, Morocco and even England, sharing the stage
with undeniable live acts such as Shigeto, Thylacine, Dorian Concept, Odezenne, Trae

The Truth, Elaquent, and Al Tarba.

We're proud to follow up our “Third Light” album with a companion selection of remixes entitled “The Light Within”, with the remixers hailing from across the globe *and* the bass music spectrum. The resultant ten-track collection is playful, spiritual and sensory, with upbeat tempos and slithering effects woven deep into the rhythmic pulses and dark undercurrents of our original tracks.

Bookended by uptempo versions of “Daylight Wasting” from International Observer and Berlin bassheads qnp, “The Light Within” features contemporary bass cuts from Portland’s Bodie and Christchurch’s Akcept, downtempo grooves by Argentinian dubsalon and South Korean mcthfg, dancefloor dubs from Mexico’s Tor.Ma in Dub and Brisbanite SUBSET, as well as drum and bass by Wellingtonian Zuke and the legendary UK producer Adrian Sherwood.

Contemplative but cheerful, either way, as “A Doubtful Sound” states, ‘The rhythm IS gonna get ya!’
