Merle Haggard - You Never Even Call Me By My Name (with Doug Supernaw, Charlie Pride, David Allan Coe & Waylon Jennings)

This song "Wildfire" by Michael Martin Murphey was recorded live at Doc Holiday's nightclub in suburban Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1976. It was recorded to my then fairly new Tascam 80-8 half inch eight track tape machine that I used to haul around in the back of my orange 1972 Datsun 510 station wagon. This evening was recorded for the local radio station that brought Michael Murphey to town. The recording was mixed in the studio and the final production, the mix of the whole concert, was played on the air the following weekend. The song reached #3 on the Billboard charts the year before I recorded him.
