Description: This piece was created as part of OST Composing Jam: Crunchtime 04, under the theme “Freedom.” I intended to convey my story and all the emotions that came with it through melodies instead of words.

This composition is part of the Thailand Game Jam X OST Composing Jam,  the theme given was "Close to Me," with an illustration by Rewindze​

These tracks have been made for the OST Composing Jam: Crunchtime 04.

The theme "Freedom" and the picture theme (credits to @the_misty_eden) were incredible, and although I had only around 7 hours to dedicate myself to this, and thus could not introduce the track in between "Prison" and "A Leap of Faith" (it would have been called "Struggle"), I'm still happy I got something out there.

I haven't done anything music related since the last OST Jam, which are in line with the theme funnily enough. So this was my way of coming back and trying again, and trying to take that leap of faith that would get me out of my mind prison.

Op.8 "UNCHAIN"【Original】

The soundtrack for "Imprisoned" follows a child who is trapped in the shadows, longing for the warmth of the sun. To break free, the child must gather the courage to acknowledge the darkness around them; only then will they be able to make the journey through darkness to light. 

I decided to make the soundtrack sort of as one song that is broken into pieces. Each piece represents a different part of the character's journey. Motifs are re-used constantly throughout; I attempted to introduce them and then warp them with the tone of each area. I don't know if I got it 100% right, and there are some parts that are pretty nutty/experimental, but it was certainly a fun challenge!

This soundtrack was made using Reaper with Kontakt, Shreddage, Serum, Battery, and various other VSTs for mixing (mostly Ozone.)

This was a collaboration with Cuy. (https://soundcloud.com/cuyguy)

The challenge was to start a track off with one musical element and then send it to your partner. Partner would then add a musical element, edit the previous element, and send it back. Rinse and repeat until finished.

Overall, this was a really fun experience and it was interesting to see how the track evolved in ways that I would not have expected to based on another person's own ideas. The resulting track is something that is pretty wild and unique that has both of our own musical "signatures" on it.

I started things off with a pretty dynamic drum track, which MVR matched well with a wild prog-rock esque bassline. We didn't have a lot of time to work on it much after, but the track is pretty short, sweet and complete as is!
