About: 

inklingroom records present the debut EP of Jeph Vanger - Athens/London based award-winning sound designer, artist and electronic composer, who works in the fields of contemporary dance, theatre, film and art installations. 

The original 5-track EP, plus rework by @Yraki,  brings temperament, no-style attachment, but a mix but forward-thinking controlled distortions geared towards intrusive post-dubstep, avant-garde bass sounds, combined by subtle electronics, ambient, drone and AI experiments. It’s a complex exercise in electroacoustic composition and a direct vision of a dystopian version of the dancefloor which itself sculpts into the artist's personal statement: “I would like to think of myself as a dance performer… interpreting different roles for each show… I intended to convey it with my worlds of sounds” Jeph Vanger.

Having first released on Grade 10 back in 2015 with the labels inaugural release entitled ‘Misery’, heavenly duo Kollaps return with ‘Growth’, a 5-track experimental EP inspired by travels through space and time, showcasing dream-like soundscapes, intergalactic communications, and hints of high intensity grit.

Rife with illusive euphoria throughout, ‘Aquarids’ is a meteor shower of field recordings and sounds from the cosmos, whilst title track ‘Growth’ is a brooding soundscape finalised with heavy drums and harsh stabs from ghosts in the machine.

On the B side, Kollaps delve deeper into their well renowned rhythmic pads through soft piano work and synth studies, concluding the EP and touching back down to earth.
