Mauro Aguirre joins Kamilo on 'Essence', a driving workout that makes its intentions clear from the opening beat. Simplicity is key here: the deep two-finger bass underlines an analogue Giorgio Moroder-style synth carrying determined indie dance drums. The intensity is undeniable. But once the clouds clear in the breakdown, an absolute blissful melody appears like a rainbow to clear the senses. Approach with caution; this is a dancefloor bomb.

Undermove - Terrible [Venture Records]

Clubsonica Records opens their 2025 campaign by unveiling the seventh edition of their popular Sampler Series. Following its debut in 2021, Clubsonica's Various Artists Sampler Series is now a regular and much anticipated offering in the label's catalog, operating as an extension to the imprint's MMW and ADE showcases. The trending series has been a platform not only for a wide assortment of upcoming talent, but continues to add some of progressive music's most notable names with each successive edition. Genre veterans Golan Zocher, Greenage, Kamilo Sanclemente, Ric Niels and Ruben Karapetyan, amongst others, have all graced Clubsonica's much sought after Sampler Series, sitting alongside a carefully curated blend of talented up and comers. Now embarking on their seventh edition as 2025 begins to take shape, Clubsonica boss Juan Pablo Torrez has compiled the series' most anticipated volume to date, featuring new music from (in order of appearance): David Podhel, Noise Generation, Greta Meier, K Loveski, Nicolas Benedetti, Phillipe Lois, Surmillo and GAU.

Selection two finds Greta Meier making her label debut with ‘Modulator'. Hailing from Argentina, Greta has emerged from her country's electronic music landscape, staking her claim as a future great in South America's burgeoning progressive house scene. Noted for her deep grooves and emotive musicality, Greta's craft shines through vividly, as she has carved out a unique path since making her production debut in 2019. A short but meticulous discography showcasing superlative releases via 3rd Avenue, BCSA, Mango Alley and Timeless Moment have been well-received, earning play and support from genre tastemakers. Also an accomplished DJ, the Cordoba resident has been a fixture of Argentina's nightlife, showcasing her keen sense of dancefloor dynamics alongside elite talents in Artbat, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, John Digweed, Hernán Cattaneo and Nora En Pure, amongst others. With 2025 getting underway with ‘Benevolence', a single recorded alongside Sebastian Sellares for UV, Greta now makes her Clubsonica debut with the deep poignant sounds of ‘Modulator'.

Bursting onto the Progressive House scene in mid-2020, Fausto Javier Loza has carved out quite a name for himself with his FJL production moniker. Since a debut on Balkan United, the Argentinean producer has found his music allied to such esteemed imprints as sister Madlochs Sound Avenue and 3rd Avenue, Roger Martinezs HIGHER STATES and Mangos all-conquering Mango Alley. Now the Rosario resident from the province of Sante Fe, debuts on Proportion with a 3-track EP of the highest order as FJL presents his Alter Ego / Losstower / Rare Wizards EP. With a deep, fizzing bassline narrative running throughout the triptych, Alter Ego is a chunky rhythmic powerhouse that sees a chest-thumping kick paired with a deliciously grooved bass pattern creating a sublime rolling pattern. A kaleidoscopic array of effects and risers are scattered across the 6-minute piece as a delicate arpeggiated melody gradually evolves from the low-end foundation. Pulsating white-noise washes and a hypnotic dance-floor vibe add to proceedings in an impressive opener. A Tech House vibe infuses Losstower with its plethora of stereo-panned effects and sub-bass groove. A series of cleverly treated vocal effects add to the sonic melange with their eerie overtones, while meticulously programmed hats and shakers provide dancefloor urgency. Subtle melodic flourishes add to the overall feel and the result is a production masterclass from the FJL studio. The final offering sees Rare Wizards immediately showcase its club-friendly credentials through house rhythm and hypnotic bass sequence. In keeping with its partner tracks, a flurry of deep, dark and powerful effects make their presence felt alongside evolving textures and immaculate melodic touches. Layer upon layer of evermore intricate sounds come to the fore, felt especially keenly at the powerfully pulsing breakdown, before returning to the dramatic rhythmic urgency and plethora of effects that create a track bringing to mind such maestros such as John Digweed, Quivver and Jamie Stevens.
