While looking for an old track I actually produced in 2007 I came across a couple of live recordings from 2007 that I completely forgot I had ever recorded so I decided I start sharing some great old mixes that I actually enjoyed listening to again.

This one is from a very special night at one of Halifax's best electronic music venues (or perhaps the best given all the great events there throughout the years) where I opened for one of my favourite djs to play with. The one and only Danny Howells! Such a great guy and an amazing dj who even had my head spinning during his set. I was so blessed to have opened for Danny both times he graced the decks here in Halifax and I am very happy to share this two and half hour warmup set.

With ground-breaking concepts like Club Risk, Amsterdam house music pioneer Mike Risk introduced the lowlands to many legends of House music. He is an established, and skilled ‘deejays deejay’. Something he showcases all over the planet at legendary festivals and clubs such as Southport Weekender (UK), Chosen Few Picnic Festival (US), Cielo (NYC), Amsterdam Dance Event, and Ministry of Sound (UK) to name a few festivals, and clubs. His deep, uplifting & energetic DJ skills get recognition by the world’s very best & are a seamless mix of upfront New York & Chicago house, deep house, & disco. Every set is a journey of digging through 25 years of house music. 

As a producer Risk has released a track ‘Welcome to my House’ on Dope Wax, the label of Kenny Dope (nr 3 Traxsource deep house chart), and his last track ‘Alright, Alright was released via T Crates, the label of Terry Hunter (nr 12 Traxsource deep house chart). As part of the deejay collective RiskSoundSystem (2007 - 2014) he has released the club hit ‘The Sound is Yours’ via N.EW.S. and the single ‘Closer’ with Marc Evens on Quantize Recordings from deejay Spen.
