Diopter, the musical project of Charleston-based artist Mike Morabito, delivers a dynamic fusion of alternative rock with atmospheric textures and introspective storytelling. As a multi-instrumentalist and producer, he crafts layered compositions featuring high-gain guitars, immersive soundscapes, and compelling vocals exploring personal evolution and human connection themes. His distinctive approach to songwriting combines raw emotional energy with meticulously engineered production, creating a powerful and intricate sound. Currently focusing on his musical journey after a successful career in optometry, Diopter performs all instruments except drums, bringing a perfectionist's attention to detail to every aspect of his creative process. His debut album "Dream State" established his signature blend of dreamy atmospheres and driving rock. At the same time, his latest release "Undeniable Truth" pushes boundaries with harder-hitting arrangements and deeper lyrical themes.

Songs with a twinge of humor (and some a bit more serious).  My primary focus right now is songwriting (and I enjoy singing the vocals).  

I can strum a guitar and play chords on the piano but, I have been leaning heavily on .vst plug ins ( EZkeys 2, EZ Bass and  EZ drummer 3) and to try to make them sound as good as I can using  Logic Pro 11.

I do not use AI to create any of my melodies or lyrics. Personally, I enjoy the challenge of coming up with the song using my own human intelligence.

Hi, I’m Andreas.


Welcome to my little collection of mainly unfinished demo songs and some songs of a former amateur band (which nobody knows except me, the other 4 guys and perhaps my parents :-D ) in which played when I was still in school. These have been recorded about 30 years ago and then I was busy with everything else but music for about 3 decades. But there was always something missing so I started recording again in the winter of 23/24. All these recordings are far from being perfect but come deep from the heart. I appreciate your support and feedback and I enjoy listening to your music equally. Overwhelmed by so much talent  and dedication to be found here on this platform.

This is such a nice community here. All my respect to all artists, who are creating such wonderful musical art und what is even more important: support each other in the best way no matter if they have 10 followers or 10000.
