Darren Abela, who plays under the alias of Echofaze, is a Maltese DJ and producer who has been DJing in clubs in Malta and Berlin for over 20 years. Dancing to every tune he plays, his physical presence behind the decks is unique. A pioneer in the local scene, his love for Techno, Groove and Hardgroove have seen him signed up as a resident at one of southern Europe’s most prestigious Techno festivals, Glitch. He’s also graced the decks in some of the most infamous clubs in Berlin, including Tresor and RSO. Echofaze also excels as a producer, mainly releasing hardgroove titles that have been becoming ever more popular with his peers. He’s currently releasing titles on many major labels, including Crises Of Man, Aura Tribale, Synergie and Xelima.

Christopher DiAngelis, professionally known as GONZO, is a true veteran of the underground electronic music scene and a seminal figure in the East Coast rave movement.

His career began in the early 1990s as part of the influential New York City promoter crew Adrenaline, which was instrumental in cultivating the city’s raw and unfiltered warehouse rave culture. In 1992, GONZO secured a residency at the iconic Limelight nightclub, a pivotal achievement that helped establish his influence during the formative years of the scene.

GONZO quickly gained recognition for his fearless and unique style behind the decks, rising to prominence during the golden age of rave. He has performed alongside seminal acts such as The Crystal Method and The Chemical Brothers, and brought his high-energy sets to major festivals including Lollapalooza in 1997 and Woodstock in 1999, where he shared stages with Fatboy Slim, Dave Ralph, and Sandra Collins.

Over a career spanning more than three decades, GONZO has performed extensively across the United States, as well as in Montreal and Japan. Despite his success on large festival stages, he has remained deeply connected to the underground, consistently delivering bold and authentic sets that resonate with dedicated rave audiences.

Today, GONZO continues to perform live at raves and events, and contributes guest DJ sets to radio shows and podcasts—including his featured two-and-a-half-hour mix on Capelli’s Outta Freak’in Control Podcast 9

ILLUMINATIONS

DJ Capelli was raised in New Jersey and found his passion for electronic music in the late 80's at 10 years old, fueled by the resonating sounds of industrial music including bands like Nine Inch Nails, Front 242, KMFDM, and Skinny Puppy. By 14-15, he went to his first rave, discovering a vibrant community to call his own. At 16, he acquired his set of Technic turntables and a mixer and began learning the ins and outs of DJing. Inspired by DJ Bad Boy Bill and influenced by the Chicago house scene, he quickly found his signature sound playing hard house infused with the soulful essence of Chicago house & disco house.

As the '90s drew to a close, Capelli became a prominent figure in the New Jersey and New York City party circuits, collaborating with local New York and New Jersey DJs such as Odi, Kazpa, Jo-S, Empress, Pauly, and Jevic from Sympty. After a hiatus in the mid-2000s, the allure of the scene beckoned once again in 2020, during the Covid 19 pandemic being reignited by TNL's live broadcasts and the birth of the SESS1ONS events under the Verrazano Bridge. By 2021, equipped with fresh gear and renewed vigor, Capelli emerged from retirement, unleashing a torrent of hard-hitting techno mixes infused with that old Chicago flare that captured the attention of RTDF RAVE RADIO. Now serving as the resident DJ for RTDFRaveRadio.com, Capelli has delivered countless exclusive mixes and is an essential promoter. This new venture with Rave Radio throughout 2023 has opened the door for guest DJ mixes on Podcasts internationally. In 2024,  he started his new podcast on RTDF RAVE RADIO STATION: Capelli's Outta Freak'in Control Podcast featuring full line-ups of DJs airing as their Sunday flagship shows.
