Disquiet Junto Project 0639: Path Ways (4 of 3)

My second piece is a cross between points 2 and 3.
As a starting piece I chose the piece by encyn, a true gem of this compilation.
I recovered what was originally supposed to be my 637, then abandoned because the track had already been chosen. In this case without channel limitations.
Starting from this 636 I followed the family tree and chose some 637s and 638s to mix on the starting track.

There's so little information about this amazing renga poet that I decided to share another poem written by him. This one is part of a longer sequence, written in 1463:

Only the moon remains
floating in the memory upon
Kinokawa River—
pale glistening waves,
the blank wake of drowned men.
 
About this poem, the author said: "Among the hundreds and thousands who have drowned and perished in this river
due to the disorders in this province were those whom I knew in former days. Often
I would walk along the river, gazing at the moon."

Shinkei (1406-75) was a renowned renga poet and critic, best known for his two-part work "Sasamegoto" (Murmured Conversations). To find out more about this interesting and largely unknown poet-priest, I recommend reading Heart's Flower - The Life and Poetry of Shinkei by Esperanza Ramirez-Christensen

mikey_a is an ambient and soundscape artist living in Melbourne, Australia.
Though now producing mainly in the box with a mix of VST and field recordings he still likes to occasionally crank out some of the physical treasures he's owned since the '80s: a Korg MonoPoly, a Roland TR-606, TB-303, S-10 and D-110 along with a TEAC 3440 reel-to-reel.
