This track, Halloween inspired, samples the deeper and darker side of my modular synth (for the initiated: E352's, Plaits and Beads are prominent modules).  I've added effects, some spitfire drums, a bit of EQ and dynamics "in the box" afterwards.

In these 2 scenes with Prologue and Postlude that make up this 2nd Act, we witness the final imprisonment of Osip Mandelstam in Vladivostock and then the arrest, interrogation, torture, trial and execution of Isaac Babel. Act III will begin with a scene that includes the announcement of the death of Stalin and the start of 'The Thaw'.

mikey_a is an ambient and soundscape artist living in Melbourne, Australia.
Though now producing mainly in the box with a mix of VST and field recordings he still likes to occasionally crank out some of the physical treasures he's owned since the '80s: a Korg MonoPoly, a Roland TR-606, TB-303, S-10 and D-110 along with a TEAC 3440 reel-to-reel.
He is a frequent contributor to the Naviar Records' Haiku Challenge and Disquiet Junto projects.
