Following our good friend Lee Burridge past the sunset and well into the day as sandstorms whipped past us in the background we stood amongst friends and strangers (who are just friends we’ve yet to meet) and we danced and celebrated together, participating in the beauty of a shared moment that can only be held in our memories as a mere shadow of what we truly experienced… What an honor to be part of it all. After debuting for the first time at this year’s We Are FSTVL, producers/DJs MK & Lee Foss and singer/songwriter Anabel Englund have announced their first official release together as Pleasure State. Coming out on Jamie Jones’ and Lee Foss’ label Hot Creations, the group announce the highly anticipated release of 'Ghost In The System’ on December 1st.

Pleasure State is a project driven by the group’s unusual implosive chemistry along with a vision to create melodic and impassioned house music. Their style is dark and sensual with haunting vocals, pulsing beats and uncensored subject matters. Successful in their own right, MK, Lee and Anabel bring a wealth of talent, experience and creativity to this new and exciting group and Pleasure State acts as a natural extension of who they are as individuals.

After Lee Foss met the intriguing Californian talent Anabel Englund, he brought her into his existing collaboration with house heavyweight MK, literally igniting sparks between the group, whose union was formalised with the stand-out track 'Electricity' for Hot Creations.  Pleasure State have carved out the time all over the world to get together and create, and they have now delivered this exceptional EP.

The evocative ‘Ghost In The System’ is inhabited by a sinister presence created by Anabel’s chilling vocal which is accompanied by a bouncing bass and distorted rap and the result in a full on haunting of an atmospheric dance track. The EP features the politically charged and hip-hop influenced dance record ’Subject Matter’ and a 12 minute remix of ‘Electricity’ from Detroit techno legend and Grammy award winner, Carl Craig.

Einmusiks „5 A.M.“ was a well celebrated album and we are proud to extend the trip with names like Acid Pauli (Katermukke), Oliver Schories (Der Turnbeutel), Kruse & Nuernberg (Off Recordings), Animal Trainer (Stil vor Talent), Marc DePulse (Noir Music) and Ran Salman (Steyoyoke). The „5 A.M. Remixes“ are all epic odes to the synth with deep and dark baselines and a strong unique character.

Acid Pauli decided to combine a pumping groove and a really crazy and spiky line without loosing the original. His version of „5 A.M.“ is going straight into your knees - a masterpiece! Kruse & Nuernberg choose to make a version of „Screaming Hand“ and it became a high class house production with open spaces and uncompromised claps. It’s a floor-killer, no doubt! Oliver Schories also picked „Screaming Hand“ to bring it into a match of cold sequences and summer-like moments. The baseline is hard and dry, lovely and gloomy at the same time. Sun and clouds change on the sky. Animal Trainers „Bisloa“ version is a big floor killer. The clap is running, the syths are very free and hypnotic and the vocals are on point. Marc DePulse is on the way with „Sacro Bosco“ - hypnotic and full of powerful moments. A bomb without compromises. Last but truly not least we welcome Ran Salman 
with his „Azur“ remix, which is bringing you back to the start of this magic journey.

Citing diverse influences such as The KLF, Prince, the sort of left-field disco played by DJ Harvey and classic house producers like Mr. Fingers, Matthew Wasley aka Human Life produces catchy, potent electronic music with engaging vocals and strong song writing.

Originally from Boston, Human Life now lives in Los Angeles where he met Anabel Englund and the two became fast friends, soaking in the city’s underground warehouse parties together. "El Diablo“ (original version released on Win Music) marks the second collaboration of the pair, the first being their track "Falling“ which was released on Hot Creations in 2013. "El Diablo“ has lyrics influenced by Jim Morrison, harmonies reminiscent of The Beach Boys, and a deep, disco influenced production with an early 90’s touch. 

It was Sean Glass from Win Music NYC who sent the track to Shir Khan. The latter liked the original track so much that they both decided to give it some decent Exploited All Star Remix package. 

Now here are 4 different remixes for the club from Exploited mainstays Adana Twins and Joyce Muniz as well as friends Mia Dora and Hotlane.

Anabel Englund: "My friend Matthew Wasley (aka Human Life) introduced me to music like Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Kim Ann Foxman, Maya Jane Coles, Adana Twins and it all started from there. For the first time hearing it, I would say it sounded like sex. Good, dirty sex and I was hooked ever since.“

Human Life: "I would make her playlists every week to listen to. Adana Twins’ track "Everyday" was the soundtrack to many a car ride home. It's only fitting that now years later the Adana's have remixed our track "El Diablo“!“

‘Don’t You Think’ was directly inspired by Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream party at the Nest.  So it was only fitting that I send the tune to Lee, and even more fitting that he immediately loved it, and signed it to his label Get Weird.  It seemed like the stars had aligned perfectly, but after almost a year, circumstances forced Lee to shut down Get Weird, and thus the track was relinquished back to me. 
I believe that when one door closes, another opens, and that is exactly what happened with Desert Hearts.  They welcomed me, and my music with open arms into their burgeoning family, and I could not feel more
at home.

Funk conductor, eclectic savant, and master of good vibes: this is Lonely Boy. His talents are omnidirectional, spanning a Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies, television commercials, bike building, sausage making, ice dancing, and tour gigs on every continent (except Antarctica).

Chris Lake's newest release is a true house tune that keeps you on your toes and leads you to the dancefloor. With a smattering of chopped, warped vocal samples and a clean and pumping bass, 'Chest' is an uncomplicated, stripped back track focussed purely on the energy and the beat. 

Last year the Scottish Producer and DJ released ‘Delirious (Boneless)' feat. Kid Ink with Steve Aoki & Tujamo, a club banger that's amassed close to 8 million SoundCloud streams, and now Chris Lake back with another contagious dance track - but this time to focus on a pure and authentic house vibe. 

Known for his modern house infused with funked-out grooves, LA-based Lake was signed to Ultra Music in 2012 after perfecting his signature sound through a series of well-received releases and two Essential Mixes. His early tracks - including 'Changes', an offering that made the top 10 on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay - received a lot of love, and helped him break into the North American scene early into his career.


Last year saw Chris Lake playing to packed crowds across the globe, including Sun City Music Festival in the States, Pacha, Ibiza and e-Lake festival in Luxembourg. He's hit the ground running in 2015 with a January US tour ahead of 'Chest’ release on the 6th of February.

The duo from Sydney bought you 2010’s pop hit ‘Crave You feat. Part mythical desert harlequin, part modern soul conductor, Mikey Lion is more than a DJ––He’s a freak of nature and an energy controller. The San Diego-native has earned a dusty mystique over the past few years as the center of the Desert Hearts movement and as a house and techno provocateur with a stage presence that suggests he will ride this wave all the way to the top. If there's one thing Mikey does well, it's get the party started.

Lion, real name Michael Leon, has brought the mothafuckin' ruckus to the stages of Lightning in a Bottle, the dustiest storms at Burning Man, and The Do LaB at Coachella, earning nods from Claude VonStroke, Jamie Jones, and Green Velvet in the process. In doing so, Lion and his signature top hat have developed a boisterous voice in the House & Techno scene with strong tribal, hip-hop, and psychedelic elements.

But it all started with Wu-Tang and Daft Punk. Lion first found his way behind the decks as a thirteen year old kid, scratching underground hip-hop records religiously after school. At Coachella as a seventeen year old, he witnessed that legendary Daft Punk performance on the same night he tasted his first dose of psychedelics. The show had such a monumental impact on him, he gave up Hip-Hop and became a House DJ the very next day.

After honing his craft with weekly marathon DJ sessions at Sala Razzmatazz in Barcelona, Mikey was introduced to Burner culture at Lightning in a Bottle, 2011. It was at his first Burning Man in 2011 that he found a community calling and merged forces with his brother Porkchop, life long friends Marbs & Deep Jesus, and the inimitable Lee Reynolds to form The Desert Hearts Crew.

In November 2012, Desert Hearts began as a seedy, 200-person renegade gathering deep in the Mojave Desert. The intrepid crew barely survived a set of extreme weather conditions and unfortunate circumstances, but that first party sparked a fire. The entire point of that first Desert Hearts was to create as much love as humanly possible, and now that same gathering has evolved into the darling of the West Coast house and techno scene. The Bi-annual festival is capped at 3500 attendees in order to create the best possible vibe. Built upon beautiful people getting as weird as possible to deep and trippy house and techno, Desert Hearts has already achieved iconic status in the North American Festival Scene. 

Desert Hearts has given rise to a family of thousands and it's safe to call it a bonafide movement of love. And while Desert Hearts Records launched in 2014 as a totally-free record label, pushes the sonic aesthetic of the scene, the crew’s busy international calendar of bookings has the DH message spreading far and wide. At the center of it all is Mikey Lion, the dusty prince of desert hearts, a beacon of weird far and wide, and one of this generation’s most compelling agents of love.
