What's up Desert Hearts Family!

It's our distinct pleasure to welcome one of our favorite artists and all-around human beings to the label, the one, the only, jozif! It was love at first sight when we first partied with this dude two years ago in Mexico, and since then jozif has become one of our most beloved resident DJs at our Desert Hearts Festivals. His delicious personality and incomparable party vibe has made him a fan favorite behind the decks, but it's his dedication towards pushing the musical boundaries that's kept him in our hearts around the world. It's with great pride to give you three original tracks from our dear friend along with an explosive remix from label boss Mikey Lion to round out the EP. There is only one jozif and we couldn't be happier to have him officially join the crew. Welcome to the Family Big Dawg!

Farris Wheel continues its 20 year anniversary celebrations with a remix EP of one of the most successful house records of the last few years: Sonny Fodera & Gene Farris's huge 'We Work It'.

Sonny Fodera and Gene Farris's 2015 collaboration 'We Work It' was a record that lodged itself in the Beatport Top 10 for months, and further established both Fodera and Farris as rare and highly sought-after talents. Three years later and in the same year that Gene's Farris Wheel Recordings celebrates it 20-year anniversary, 'We Work It' has been reworked by four vital producers: PAX, Sacha Robotti, GAWP and CJ Jeff. 

Aaron Taylor and Charles Robinson aka PAX kicks things off with a slick house rework that strips things back to its bare essentials, delivering both a heady atmosphere and compulsive groove. Sacha Robetti's chugging tech remix adds metallic clangs and fizzes for spine-tingling, visceral rework. 

Capping off an exceptional year, GAWP joins the remix party with a glitchy dancefloor stomper than fizzes with barely resolved tension, while completing the package, CJ Jeff's dubby techno version is rich with emotional melodies and crunching drums. 

2018 sees Farris Wheel locked back into a regular groove of releases after a few years' absence, with Paul Johnson, Roy Davis Jr, Sydney Blue all set to release over the coming months.

We are excited to welcome one of the best dudes we know, Wyatt Marshall, back to the label with his sophomore EP titled Mind Control.

Bold and minimal, the whole release embodies the tripped out modular wave of absolutely insistent grooves that Wyatt has been chasing in his music as of late. 

Whether its the whipping synth, rumbling bass line, and instantly memorable hook of the title track 'Mind Control,' the subtle dissonant chord stabs against the cheeky bubbling arp on 'Foundations,' or just the afternoon vibes of wonkiness on 'Stir Fry,' our boy Wyatt has cooked up a little something for anybody that calls themselves a House music aficionado.

All proceeds from this release will go to NAACP.

We are very excited to welcome a long time friend, Beth Lydi, to the label with her Windy Pipes EP.

Windy Pipes kicks the release off with an old school electro vibe complimented by its perky drum rhythms. This one's ingenuity comes in its simplicity.

Beth follows with Paper Shark, making quick use of chipper vocal chops and wonky whistlings. The track is incredibly fun.

Part mythical desert harlequin, part modern soul conductor, Mikey Lion is more than a DJ––He’s a freak of nature and an energy controller. The San Diego-native has earned a dusty mystique over the past few years as the center of the Desert Hearts movement and as a house and techno provocateur with a stage presence that suggests he will ride this wave all the way to the top. If there's one thing Mikey does well, it's get the party started.

Lion, real name Michael Leon, has brought the mothafuckin' ruckus to the stages of Lightning in a Bottle, the dustiest storms at Burning Man, and The Do LaB at Coachella, earning nods from Claude VonStroke, Jamie Jones, and Green Velvet in the process. In doing so, Lion and his signature top hat have developed a boisterous voice in the House & Techno scene with strong tribal, hip-hop, and psychedelic elements.

But it all started with Wu-Tang and Daft Punk. Lion first found his way behind the decks as a thirteen year old kid, scratching underground hip-hop records religiously after school. At Coachella as a seventeen year old, he witnessed that legendary Daft Punk performance on the same night he tasted his first dose of psychedelics. The show had such a monumental impact on him, he gave up Hip-Hop and became a House DJ the very next day.

After honing his craft with weekly marathon DJ sessions at Sala Razzmatazz in Barcelona, Mikey was introduced to Burner culture at Lightning in a Bottle, 2011. It was at his first Burning Man in 2011 that he found a community calling and merged forces with his brother Porkchop, life long friends Marbs & Deep Jesus, and the inimitable Lee Reynolds to form The Desert Hearts Crew.

In November 2012, Desert Hearts began as a seedy, 200-person renegade gathering deep in the Mojave Desert. The intrepid crew barely survived a set of extreme weather conditions and unfortunate circumstances, but that first party sparked a fire. The entire point of that first Desert Hearts was to create as much love as humanly possible, and now that same gathering has evolved into the darling of the West Coast house and techno scene. The Bi-annual festival is capped at 3500 attendees in order to create the best possible vibe. Built upon beautiful people getting as weird as possible to deep and trippy house and techno, Desert Hearts has already achieved iconic status in the North American Festival Scene. 

Desert Hearts has given rise to a family of thousands and it's safe to call it a bonafide movement of love. And while Desert Hearts Records launched in 2014 as a totally-free record label, pushes the sonic aesthetic of the scene, the crew’s busy international calendar of bookings has the DH message spreading far and wide. At the center of it all is Mikey Lion, the dusty prince of desert hearts, a beacon of weird far and wide, and one of this generation’s most compelling agents of love.
