La couleur bleue, qui inspire rêves et sérénité, laisse place aux tonalités vertes ambiguës, qui évoquent tantôt la renaissance, la nature ou la sorcellerie, tantôt le désordre et la déroute. L’heure verte est un clin d’œil à l’écrivain et voyageur suisse Nicolas Bouvier.

✨ Can you hear the nebular sounds? ✨ Analogue grit and silk from Korg ARP2600m arping and Arturia Polybrute on the lead voice. 

Recorded ARP2600m live by tweaking 5-7 sliders, then placed 8-bar parts to L/R channels in Ableton for more spacial movement. Lead tune is played on Polybrute's keyboard. Designed two Polybrute A/B presets and manually tweaked with Morphee controller. While DAW is playing pre-automated glide and filter sweeps. Arturia Pigments for colored pads and OB-Xa for nebular glitter. Basslines are Arturia Mini and Moog UADx. FabFilter Saturn2 saturation, ProQ3/C/L2, Arturia Intensity/Eternity, and Moogerfooger MF-104S. As always the new and a dozen other tracks are downloadable on my accounts, thanks!

Gunshot blues is the first track I have written and recorded. I recorded the track at HQ Studios in Manchester. I first started writing the song about 7 years ago but then moved onto writing the next song and then the next song and so on. I finally got around to finishing this one last year and taking it to the studio to record. I play the guitars, bass and there is an organ somewhere in the background. I then attempt to sing as well. Drums are a mix of samples put together by the producer. There is some other percussion in there such as tambourine and I don’t know if there is a technical name for it but “shaky egg”? My Dad did those as he came with me to the recording studio when i did this track and I wanted him to be a part of it. See what you think…..

Life is rough, and your mind is busy with plans how to make it through the next day. Could you ever stop having the blues? Even as a musician? While jamming a boogie on piano, the phrase stuck in my head and I liked its ambiguity. Hello. So funny, as years ago I was jamming with a bunch of friends and I asked Allen what he was playing on guitar when we took a break. He said… it’s a simple farming song. I laughed as the melody was great. Maybe most of my songs have been simple farming songs. This one definitely is. It came about after I was exploring some overdriven slide guitar, trying to work up a heavy Blues tune. None of that was panning out, so I just grabbed the Dobro and kept it simple. Everything about the song just fell into place, to include some vocal shenanigans. In other news, I’ve got a long chore list to get after before the snow flies. One quick chore was climbing up on the garage and shoveling Bandit’s droppings off the roof by the apple tree he loves. Bandit is a raccoon. It also gave me a chance to pick some apples on the branches that overhang the roof. I left more apples than I picked… for Bandit and the deer that come in here… Bandit likes apples and unknowingly helps to fertilize the apple tree. Everyone pulls their weight down here on the farm. Hahahaha. Birds are migrating through in waves now. I sit out on the porch in an old chair and watch them. Sometimes I get to see a bird or two I haven’t seen before and look in the field guide to try and ID it. So there’s a bit of ornithology going on ‘round here too. Anyway, I hope you’re doing well wherever you are, with whatever you’re doing these days. Thanks for dropping by for a spell. Mark

Hello and thank you for dropping by.

Thank you very much to everyone who takes the time to listen, like and share my noises. I am extremely grateful. My apologies if I take a little while to respond to those that leave nice comments.

I like listening to music, making simple, tunes when I have time, and generally faffing about in an inefficient manner. Hopefully you might like something on offer here. 

I use a Hinkler Cigar Box guitar (about $30 from Aldi, great fun), a Flying V ukulele, a couple of old keyboards, other bits and bobs, and a Yamaha tenor saxophone.

No AI is used to generate sounds whilst journeying on these cacophonic adventures.
