Originally from Normandy now residing in the country's capital, French DJ and producer Adam Boufeldja (aka Adam BFD) has been making a serious name for himself, having put out a string of self-released singles and through his own self-titled Youtube channel.

Adam’s tracks have always been vivid, detailed portraits; drawing from memories and influences from around the world, and his latest EP on Running Out Of Steam is no exception; using his eclectic tastes to produce a record truly unique, and brimming with personality.

‘I’ll be walking’ meanders through an always evolving city, creating space and sense of an otherwise chaotic and fleeting world. The track’s softly spoken synths hold the torch, while the effortless drums walk us home. ‘Call A Taxi’ follows suit, a fruitful marriage between shuffling drum patterns and hypnotic tones, while the track's subtle low-end provides the glue; closing off an A side that feels more like a story being told than another dance-floor memento.

Title track ‘No Advice’ launches the B side on a slightly more ominous tone, in a microcosmic portrait of opposing forces; before ‘An Ode To La Condesa’ glides through like a letter from an old friend, the smell of fresh ink still prevalent on the page as we’re whisked away through the wide-tree lined avenues of La Condesa. The EP comes to a close with ‘For The Good Times’ combining nostalgic tinged leads, forward-marching drums and sprawling pads that act as a backdrop to another highly impressive EP from one of France’s best emerging artists.

On the eve of its 25th birthday, Selway has decided to get the track remixed by some serious electro talents. Keith Tenniswood kicks things off as Radioactive Man, offering a fiendishly sub0heavy, alien-sounding electro rub that's guaranteed to put extra pressure on bassbins and sub cabinets, before Selway himself re-frames the cut as a moody, foreboding chunk of sci-fi electro excellence. Over on the flip, Sync 24 delivers a more percussively intense and weighty dark electro roller, while Transparent Sound joins the dots between classic 80s electro and the cybernetic moodiness of Selway's 1998 mix."

Since its inception in 2020, Italo Moderni’s energy, spirit and inspiration has been the dancefloor. The darkened bunkers of Belgium, the trembling speakers of Valencia, the warming dawn of Rimini, these influences have been the lifeblood. Solidifying this tireless effort, Mellow Bangers Vol 2 is the label’s most ambitious collection to date.

In celebration of the imprint’s fifth anniversary, fifteen artists gather with every single one united under a rallying cry. From across the globe, machinists have been drawn together to deliver a statement of acid and wave, of electro and synth with flourishes of italo. The shadowy fringes of the floor are well represented, audio artisans like Cyrk and Djedjotronic serving distorted drums and melodies dripping with menace. Brightening these tones are the likes of Lauer with his Balearic infusions or Gravedad Cinética’s otherworldly “Fake Atmosphere.” Amongst the litany of talent are musicians who have both inspired Italo Moderni as well as those who have appeared on the label. Antoni Maiovvi fits such a description, the sound sorcerer slicing beats through bittersweet bars in the immersive “Stopping Power.” Ceaselessly developing the Spanish scene, Iberian artists are rightly showcased. Madrid’s David Ponziano offers the cascading luminance of “In Search of Gold”, shimmering synthlines punctuated by breathy samples and pulsing percussion. New discoveries rub shoulders with established veterans, E-Bony’s bending and undulating “Brain U.F.O.” beside rising names like Ivan Pavletsov with the steely “No Future” and DjBoeing with the beaming joy of “Cheetah.”
Mellow Bangers Vol 2 is a breathless expression of the floor. A contemporary imagining of the racing rhythms and addictive hooks of the 1980s and 1990s. Fifteen works that summarise what Italo Moderni is and will continue to be.

	From the ashes of the soviet empire, from the flames of history, rises THE PROXY. Post 9/11 rave vibes cloaked in Muscovite angst. The future and the past rolled up in one caviartastic sonic ICBM... InterContinentalBallisticaMazingtrack. The proxy were discovered in the myspace, while Thomas Von Party was listening to EVERY song on earth at once in the datasphere. When his finely tuned Hotboy ears caught the shockwaves of the opening tones of DESTROY... he felt the tension of Central Asia released, and knew immediately, in fact he knew PRE-mediately to contact THE DOVE. I received the binary files and listened in the comfort of my A&Rmobile. It was immediately clear that Von Party had detected an acoustic WMD (Weapon of Mass DOPEstruction) and that if handled correctly these 6.55 minutes of aural Xanadu could lead to untold riches. The stage was set. Oliver Interactive was put on the case: a contract sent by fax to the The Interior Ministry Of Getting Down based in Vladivstok, and soon, THE PROXY were signed to Turbo.

	The "hot wax" you now hold in your hands is the debut dance single by THE PROXY aka Yevgeny aka "the Russian Kid". 3 tracks of nouveau pub-techno in a Moscow stylee. Already being championed by DJs as shockingly diverse as EROL ALKAN AND 2Manydjs, the lead single DESTROY might be the best Russian song ever made. 

	From Creamfields in Argentina (where I performed for almost 350 000 0000 people) to Cocoon Club in Frankfurt this has been one of the biggest records of the night. Just buy it, it makes your life so much easier; in fact if you just had like 4 other records like this and then just played some of your
own old hits, you could totally base a career around that and just keep playing that way always.

	Not much is known about the enigmatic PROXY or how he learned to drop his KGBeats, vague rumors exist about his being raised by Sturgeon on the Caspian...all we do know for sure is that he has a red rotary telephone and loves Plushenko.

	As if that wasn't all enough: Turbo has secured an exclusive RIOT IN BELGIUM remix for the b-side. An incredible interpretation that adds that special "let's drive our car off the cliff" Aussie vibe that we have come to love and fear. Be warned, this mix will literally turn whatever party you are playing into the most magical night of your life (professionally). I can't believe this track is yours FREE when you buy the other side of the record.

I MUST be going crazy.....

But before I do...remember it's time to feel the surge of an unbridled, voracious new market economy translated into neo-rave pub-techno.
