Mikey Rockstar presents his 6th EP "Uptown Challenger (EP)", a three track EP created in Kansas City, Kansas entirely produced by Mikey Rockstar as Tommy Oliver. "Uptown Challenger (EP)" is a body of work that is filled with heavy Boom Bap inspired by the golden age/era of East Coast rap that sets the stage for Mikey Rockstar to showcase his talent and skill on the mic by delivering strong lyrical content and a variety of different flows that takes the listener through a journey of inspiration and motivation which enables the listener to gain an understanding of what it means to be an Uptown Challenger. "Uptown Challenger (EP)" was inspired by all the sounds, themes, and great MC's from the 90's such as Tupac, Nas, Jay-Z and The Notorious B.I.G. as well as the classic 1992 film "Juice".

"Uptown Challenger" (Produced By Tommy Oliver) is the first song on "Uptown Challenger (EP)". Inspired by the 1992 American crime thriller film "Juice", "Uptown Challenger" is a cool, laid back, party anthem for all the fly ladies and cool gentlemen who bring the swag, the spice, and the sauce whenever and wherever they go. "Uptown Challenger" pays homage to  Quincy "Q" Powell who is the main protagonist of the 1992 American crime film "Juice". "Q" is an African American teenager living in Harlem who is portrayed by Omar Epps. "Uptown Challenger" also pays homage to Ruffhouse M.C. who is portrayed by Queen Latifah in the 1992 American crime film "Juice". It is Latifah's character Ruffhouse M.C. who introduces "Q" to a crowd at a DJ competition as the Uptown Challenger!

"Unbreakable Warrior" (Produced By Tommy Oliver) is the second song on "Uptown Challenger (EP)". On "Unbreakable Warrior", Mikey Rockstar showcases his lyrical ability on the mic by delivering strong lyrical content over a heavy hitting Boom Bap instrumental inspired by legendary East Coast MC's like The Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, Nas, and Jay-Z. "Unbreakable Warrior" showcases the hunger, passion, and determination of an MC who is determined to become successful in the realms of Hip-Hop and is ready to become the greatest of all time by any means necessary, even if it means that he has to go to war and battle for ultimate supremacy to become the greatest of all time!

"Magnificent Transcendence" is an emotional out pouring and reflection of life experiences and wanting more for yourself in a world where having everything you ever wanted and making your dreams come true feel far fetched and feel as if they are a world away. "Magnificent Transcendence" is about rising above every trial and tribulation in order to ensure that all your dreams come true no matter the obstacles that stand in your way. "Magnificent Transcendence" is about asking God to give you the strength and power to transcend to the next dimension in order to fulfil the prophecies that have been said about your life from the kingdoms and realms that dwell above us.

Michael Duru (Mikey Rockstar) is an Artist, Director, and Filmmaker. Michael first discovered music at the age of 5. His Mom played Gospel music and his Dad played Jazz music in his house all the time. He fell in love with music at the age of 7 when his older sister was watching MTV. Michael began watching music videos and trying to mimic all the artists he saw on MTV. He didn't know what he was doing at the time but everything he saw and listened to led him to take music seriously at the age of 14 when he was a freshman in high school. He released a few singles and gained popularity at school for his music. Michael began writing stories when he was 10 years old and this developed his love for English at school. He fell in love with visuals and was fascinated with how they were made because he was exposed to so many music videos from a young age. He fell in love with film after watching Kevin Abstracts 'Runner' music video and soon after he got deeper into films and movies and looked up to actors like Will Smith, Samuel L. Jackson, Brad Pitt, and Denzel Washington as his biggest inspirations. He stumbled across 'Pulp Fiction' a movie directed by Quentin Tarantino which led him to develop an interest in writing and directing his own stories, films, and movies. Michael is currently working on his debut project and short film and wants to one day make his own blockbuster movies.
