Lost Hope

According to archaeological discoveries, Shahr-e Sukhteh is one of the oldest civilizations in the world, dating back more than 5,000 years and contemporary with the Jiroft Civilization and the Bronze Age. Known as the City of Art for its remarkable artistic and handcrafted artifacts, and the City of Science for its advanced medical discoveries, it also earned the name City of Peace due to the absence of walls, gates, or weapons—evidence of a harmonious society that interacted freely with its neighbors. Covering 151 hectares, the city flourished between 3200 and 1800 BC, going through four distinct phases: foundation, prosperity, decline, and eventual destruction. The term Sukhteh (“burnt”) was introduced during the Qajar period by Colonel Beit, who believed the ashes found around the hills were remains of a fire that ended the civilization; however, later studies suggest the decline was caused by the diversion of the Helmand River and the invasion of migrating tribes, while the ashes likely came from the many industrial kilns once active there. Despite being less known than other Iranian heritage sites, Shahr-e Sukhteh remains a vast open-air museum and one of the most advanced urban centers of its era—a timeless symbol of early human creativity, science, and peace.

SISTAN, TEMPLE OF TIME - A THOUSAND AND ONE PERSIAN NOTES

This song will always stay my personal favourite. A musical reflection on the tragedy of the human condition and equally another anti-war song. 

This is a new fresh 2025 rework with a lush orchestral arrangement of the original song published in 1999-2000.

The idea for this song was sparked by a reflection on the tragic sense of 'la condition humaine', explained by philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre as the tragic human situation of having no predetermined purpose or point of life, as their are no forces in nature, Gods, ideology or 'Grand narratives' anymore providing inherent purpose to life. This leaves humans with absolute freedom but also absolute responsibility. This understanding leads to anguish and forlornness because, without divine guidance or a given human nature, individuals are "condemned to be free" and must create their own meaning and values in a world that offers no external justifications for their actions. 

But it might as well also be that this song was partly born and inspired from foolish and boundless young adult heartbreak over unrequited love. ;-)

Waiting Between Worlds

Already three of my compositions were about the heroes from Marvel. So this time I decided to go with the competition. The DC Entertainment started its film universe with the Man of Steel three years ago. The second film arrived recently. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was huge disappointment for ones and succes for others but almost everyone agrees that first apperance of Wonder Woman on the silver screen was awesome. 

When first trailers and pictures of BvS with Wonder Woman arrived I decided to do my own composition about the character. So here is "Children of the Gods". I hope you´ll like it :).

BTW Hans Zimmer´s theme for Wonder Woman is perfect of course!! :))
