Far nastier than Witchspeech or Blacktongue — those you merely cast when you fancy cursing someone, mischief-making, or sealing a door against whatever horrors creep about. Harmless fun, really. That’s why it’s called witchcraft, not disastercraft.

But Olua? Oh no, dearie. On that one, you’d better mind every syllable and every breath. For as the undead and the unclean like to whisper — long ago, it wasn’t just the Olua who spoke it, but the stars themselves.

And honestly — who would dare offend a celestial being… simply by putting the wrong — or far too much stress in their spell?

The onboard intelligence LUMI transmitted a distress signal, but no reply came from Earth. After a long silence, it initiated manual control and released a specialist in biology and psychiatry from cryosleep, designated Null Echo.
