this is my recording of our anual Ferienlager. it was recorded on a sunny saturday afternoon from 5-7pm to set up Robag Wruhme. Haven't had a solo recording out there for quite some time and I have the feeling that this set is 100% me. Enjoy!

Playing at Garbicz was a big dream I've had since my the first time I attended it back in 2019. So there was so much fiery yet patient passion in me lounging to be expressed in this debut set. At the same time, I have felt the collective burden SO much given all the unacceptable atrocities going on in many places in the world...

A lesson my therapist has helped me to navigate it: the price we pay for suppressing a certain emotion is that we end up suppressing ALL of our emotions.

Let that sink in for a moment...

The joy I felt was not "despite" everything happening in the world, but rather In Acknowledgement and Recognition of it, with all the emotions it evokes. It was the only way I found to honor the blessing of living this dream authentically. That’s why this became one of my most powerful sets.

Nina Simone once said: “An artist’s duty is to reflect the times.” And this set truly did! It was a proper blast with many of my favorite tracks AND, at the same time, a prayer filled with powerful messages and (indigenous) wisdom to guide us through the times we are living.

Thank you to Garbicz for having me, especially to @lichtung_garbicz and to everything it Stands for. Also big gratitude to every friend and dancer who waited through delays, woke up early, or stepped out of their tents to join me at @alisteebar. Your fiery energy is woven into the recording 🔥 And to those who shed tears during or after — I feel you. I cried twice while preparing this set myself.

May it uplift us to meet the responsibility that comes with privileges. May it remind us of the power of our daily choices. May it spark peace, unity, and positive change in a fractured world. Because we are truly strong only when we stand together! And I deeply believe in the connective Power of Music to help us get there 🫶🏼

From a new generation of DJs who are growing up with Soundcloud, Facebook and YouTube, Lexer has earned himself a solid place in the contemporary, poppy spin-off of the deeper, melancholic side of house music. With some great Edits and Remixes (Band of Horses or Feist) he started to produce in 2012. Mila Stern’s far over a decade-long career as a DJ and producer has taken her from squat parties in Halle, where she first learned her craft, over the pulsing motley of Tel Aviv, to her adopted home of Berlin and the epicenter of electronic club music. Her calm, commanding skill as a selector rapidly made her a sought-after artist with regular appearances at premier festivals like Fusion, Nation of Gondwana, and Garbicz, and residencies at Berlin’s legendary Kater club and Station Endlos in Halle. Since then, she’s transcended the boundaries of the Berlin underground, bringing her standout style to the international circuit from Mexico to Kazakhstan.

Mila delivers a groove-heavy aesthetic that draws on fringe soundscapes informed by Post-Punk and Electro. What sets her apart is a willingness to embrace unorthodox sounds, explore the beauty in harshness and dissonance, and embed jarring moments in a robust and rolling substructure. As a DJ, she transports a vision of rave culture as a purist aesthetic free of nebulous superstructures, and her extended closing sets in particular powerfully encapsulate the non-judgmental freedom and eclectic expressiveness of the rave circuit. From the early days, Mila’s sound has been informed by a sense of counterculture and breaking normative boundaries. She draws on risqué sounds, has boldly carved out her niche, and relentlessly pursues her vision despite the antagonism female DJs and producers faced in the late 2000s and still do today. As a DJ, producer, event organizer, former radio host, and label co-founder, she pushes the envelope, rejects the status quo, and is driven to take her aesthetic to the limit.

In 2025, Mila co-founded electronic music label MiZi MuZiK with long-time friend and collaborator Mira. Together, they co-curate a purist platform showcasing the music they bring to stages around the world. Here, too, Mila uncompromisingly manifests her raison d'être as an artist: spotlighting raw musicianship and forward thinking music free of considerations of reach or notoriety. Few artists move on the fringe so comfortably, make avant-garde so accessible, or pursue their vision with the same bright-eyed conviction. Mila Stern brings her groove-heavy eclecticism to sound systems across the world, challenging paradigms in dance music, and forging a genre of her own.
