Fivos asked if I can play it and I gave it a try. This is my interpretation of Fivos's original composition: first half I played it following the note sheet, second half I improvised on the same theme.

Elegy No.3 (piano interpretation by Milana Zilnik)

I had a couple of collabs with Ivan Ujevic (https://soundcloud.com/iohannes) before, adding ambient piano to his magnificent ambient guitar. The very recent one was just a couple of days ago: https://soundcloud.com/iohannes/elegy-no-3-ft-milana-zilnik
Same time Ivan asked me if I can play the solo piano version of the piece. He didn't have the note sheet so I asked if it's ok to just interpret the piece with an improvisation rather than trying to follow the original composition precisely. Ivan gave his approval and we recorded this interpretation by "cutting" the original into 5-10 seconds parts and improvising on each of them separately, then merging everything into one piece.

Well, quartet harmonies from the golden age of gospel music was part of my childhood experience. I decided to record this song in that style, and immediately thought of the talented singer, Tolu. Not only does she live down the road from me, but she is also family. After recording all the vocals, we wondered what it would sound like with a piano accompaniment. I was so delighted when the superb pianist, Milana, immediately agreed to join in. You both have done a sterling job on this, and I am really deeply indebted to you. My humble thanks! Many of those who follow me on SoundCloud, Facebook or Twitter, know that many of my improvisations start with a simple motif, played by my husband or by my kids. 

I thought it would be nice to ask my followers to invent a short motif of their own and then to offer an improvisation around it as a gift, to thank you all for the appreciation of my music, your kind words and your support. So, 10 days ago I announced this event on Facebook and since then I've received recordings of 17 motifs, played on piano, guitar, flute, or just written as notes. This is the last uploaded piece from the second collaborative album between @milanazilnik and @Stephan-Beneking : "Petits rêves bizarres XIII-XXIV". 

I added a little bit of a violin accompaniment line into the original piano track, at the inspiration and suggestion of @mrinal-desai

Petit rêve bizarre XXII - Stephan Beneking and Milana - with IceRequiem on violin

The Piano Cloud presented a challenge to use other members piano pieces uploaded to "The Bouquet of Flowers" challenge. This piece uses 2 tracks. The first is from Milana Tchebotaryov-Zilnik & the second is from Ed Haydon. Both of these tunes were so beautiful in their own right, but I put them together, added some orchestration & hope you enjoy it!

"Sunrise In Meteora" by Fivos Valachis - Performance and improvisation by Milana

"Trapped in the Music" – Original improvisation by Milana Zilnik (@milanazilnik).  As a fan of Milana's, I am often moved by the emotive nature of her music.  Her title for this is appropriate, for I had to find my way into it by trying to feel every passage before finding my way out.  The maze was a sonic journey for me.  I hope you, the listener, will enjoy!

Trapped In The Music - Milana and Michael Orzek

In the concept Artist meets jCoke the turn now have come to the wonderful and talented Milana Zilnik. I saw this as a real challenge since she is so good musician. I got the MIDIs for her track Farewell which I love. I tried to preserve as much of her play but make it jCokish which is the whole idea behind this concept :D I thank her from my heart that I got this opportunity. I hope you like it??

Farewell - Milana Zilnik Meets jCoke

It's great to be a member of "The Piano Cloud" community and participate in its periodic challenges. The ongoing challenge that is called "Something borrowed" (look it up here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ThePianoCloud/) is about providing the sheet music of one of your pieces for others to play and record their interpretations of your piece.  So, I chose to play the piece called "Purple thought" composed by Karlo Alfonso Brna (https://soundcloud.com/karlo-brna). It was quite challenging piece for me as I rarely play cross-hands and playing different rhythms in both hands drove me crazy.

Milana - Feel The Pain - (ft Land Of Orz)

Playing piano since I was four and studied in a musical school for ten years. Though, I always felt that playing by notes and singing in a choir is not enough to become a musician. I needed to be able to play anything I want by ear so, by starting improvising, I've found my own style of playing. When I teach children to play piano or sing, I offer them improvisation right from the beginning. I wish I was taught that way, since until my mid-30s I had hard times to relax and believe in my ability to create my own music. Twelve years ago my husband (@arty-sandler) finally convinced me to record some of my improvisations and we opened this account on SoundCloud - it happened in July, 2012.

You won't find a single particular genre on my cloud: my musical tastes are rather eclectic. Jazz and soft rock are my favorites but I also play blues, classical, folk, middle-eastern, New Age, ambient and others. Piano and vocal are my main instruments but together with my husband we also experiment a lot with different arrangements and orchestrations. 

When we started uploading our music to SoundCloud back in 2012, it was first shy attempts to record my improvisations straight from a keyboard. Many things have evolved since then. Over the years we've grown into a professional recording and composing studio, with a conservatory grand piano in an acoustically treated room and a bunch of microphones and other recording equipment. We scored a few documentaries, short films and animations. This year my orchestral and piano solo works were performed by Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra for Bryan Arias’s ballet show based on “The Little Prince” story. We've published three books with my original scores for solo piano and released twenty original full-length albums (solo piano, multi-instrumental and original songs in various genres) and numerous singles that have been streamed over 70 million times across multiple platforms.
