Kri Records strike back with a cassette compilation under an
appropriate name: Trust the Rust! Rust dealers come from all over
the globe.

Nasty electro cuts are served by LA-based Ole Mic Odd who
has released on labels such as Zement, Italian producer and the
mighty Gravitational Waves owner DJ Nephil, British veteran
Chupacabras with seals of approval on L.I.E.S. among others, and
our Russian friend Larionov, who regularly puts out bangers for
Rotterdam Electronix. The Electro part of the compilation is
rounded by the local Ljubljana legend operating as a DJ and
Honest Work label owner, 198319831983.

EBM-ish march is saluted by Black Dot, the duo of Christian Kroupa
and Le Chocolat Noir, soon releasing music on Mechatronica and
responsible for our first release. Christian has also joined forces
with the Dallas and Science Cult native Aura Nox. NYC and wave EBM
bangers are represented by R Gamble, Spinal is an up-and-coming
producer from Chile having released a great EP on Pildoras Tapes,
while Bianco Negativo is an Italian duo behind one of our fav
labels, Marguerite Records.

10 tracks exploring the dark corners of Kri Records are available
on a super cute cassette or digitally via Bandcamp.

This release is an exploration of heightened BPMs, delving into glitchy elements and fast-paced retriggering bass lines that have been honed over years of experimentation and sonic exploration.

Rising star Remotif returns to Especial with a full complement of his “trance fusion”, a modern-day ethnicity of breakbeat techno dance music. With releases on Coymix, and Space Lab, as well as soon appearing on the cult label Avidya, plus a burgeoning DJ career from Fabric to Berlin’s seminal Warning parties, his time and space is now.

A standout inclusion on the last Especial sampler “Comunion Especial” (EES040) was a prescient to a pure natural ability to create hypnotic grooves. Part of the burgeoning Bristol scene Joe “Remotif” Reddick has steadily built a series of releases and admirers, a psychedelic swirl of bouncing beats, oscillating rhythms and trippy vox that capture a moment of merging zeitgeist.

Starting with U 15, this is prime time, jacking Remotif, where melody, samples, and beats angelate, stretch and absorb, almost devotional, but always engaging the feet and mind, a blissful science, daring shanti awakenings.

Deep and dripping, the organic ooze of Glint's Pursuit follows. Tribal percussion, shimmery timbres, siren vocals, the sharpness created by slowing the bpms giving oxygen to our experience. Rising, rising.

The Elevated Place sums much of Remotif’s music. His personal highs (and lows) encompassed via sound design. Acidic, nocturnal, skywards, the unquantifiable stream of emotion is in there, a very genuine capturing of a personal journey wrought from machines, translating into a musical form. The lost chord, the funk electric. Whichever, the drop ethereal, the breaks supertight, the hope unrelenting. An apt EP title.

The end (for now) an inverse to Joe’s universe. The space between, the afters, the dub, the mantra, nodding to Bristol’s music history, The Sunken Place is a groove-led, break-neck, trip-not, head-swinging, deftly-made electronic micro-symphony. From the 90s to the 20’s, San Francisco to Stroom, Remotif rides the signal.

five propulsive, space jams. Dropping 18th October, Otherworlds EP is cosmic Techno from the Montreal-based artist that will have you hooked! 

A3 offers broken-beats, bleeps and bloops - ‘Overstatement (Space Edit)’ is a dizzying brain-tickler. On the flip, B1’s ‘Social Compost’, is a tripped out, warehouse wobbler. Rounding out the EP with a final acid cut, ‘Thalassa’ (B2), nods to early Detroit machine music with extraterrestrial influence. A tip for digi buyers, you’ll find ‘Sentiment Analysis’ (B3), stripped back yet pacey, frantic machine music. 

Enter softcoresoft, the DJ, producer and cultural organiser has been whipping dancers up into a rave frenzy on the floor, and tickling our buds for some time now. The Discwoman affiliate co founded Humidex records, and has already featured on Truants, Boiler Room, and recently took part in 2019 RBMA Bass Camp in Calgary. One of the leaders of the Montreal underground, the Music Director of Never Apart, champions gender representation in music whilst hosting monthly show, Ravelength on Montréal-based radio station, n10.as. Traversing through acid, techno, electro, breaks and trance in DJ sets and live shows, Otherworlds EP is a beautifully crafted release that demonstrates her discerning ear for all that’s transcendental.
