In Ancient Greek mythology, Gaea (pronounced “guy-uh“) arose from Chaos, the void preceding the birth of the universe, to bear the worldly gods responsible for the creation of Earth. The word Gaea itself means Earth, and in modern times, the name is associated with not only the mythological mother of our planet, but with its creation and existence. This work is meant to be an homage to our planet’s beauty. The interwoven textures & colors combined with the recognizable melody are meant to emulate the balance of natural paradoxes of our planet; the awe-inspiring complexity and the inexplicable simplicity.
