Biography

Dj Menace aka Bene Bae was born on 08.10.1981 in Vienna. In 1997 he began to listen to drum & bass and quickly discovered his passion for it.
A few months later he bought equipment and began to DJ professionally.

1998-99 he became a member of "The Krek" crew which held its first parties in the legendary Sub-Zero; shortly thereafter, he also hosted as a member of the "Static-Echo Crew" the infamous party series: Therapy Sessions Austria.
 
2004-05 he joined "Synergetic", "Dynamic Recordstore" and the "Resident crew" who brought out the first Drum & Bass Magazine in Austria with the same name.

In 2007 DJ Menace began to expand into other musical genres such as, Nu skool breaks, dubstep and electronica.

In 2008 he co-founded the musical conglomerate, "City Warriors Vienna", who now play the largest Dnb parties in Vienna such as The Hive, Beat.It, Mainframe,  Mainframe Club Nights, Switch!, Beat Throat, Therapy Sessions just to mention a few.

That same year, the famous "Krocha Hymne", from the Viennese Rappers "Die Vamummtn" appeared as a City Warriors Remix on "Universal Music" and was one of the most succesful austrian productions of 2008.

Over time he discovered his love for more and more genres such as - Jackin '/ Tech / Deep / Electro / Future House, Garage, UK Bass, Glitch Hop / Experimental Hip Hop, Trap & Electro.

Recently in 2015 he has also become a resident DJ at “Masters of Dirt” and their legendary "Operation Escalation" Afterparties.

He also plays for True You - Vienna´s most iconic Fashion Label.

From 2016-2020 he co-organised the Shutdown & Bassline events in Flex.

In June 2019 he joined the Kinder vom Park Gang, who are known for their driving tech house and techno parties. At this point he 
also got a second alias: Bene Bae.

since 2025 he´s Resident DJ @ Kult & Kante.

Dj Menace has had the opertunity, in his 27 year career to play along side numerous international Djs as well as beeing internationaly booked himself.

 He gets his inspiration from a lot of other music artists such as Jubei,Fierce ,Digital,Calibre ,Marcus Intalex ,Paradox ,Loxy ,etc. 
   “I like to tell a story whenever i play music and i like to digg ,to go oldschool but add some new school flavors too ...
I dont like a linear set,same flow ,same energy all the way . “ 
   He also tries producing ,released 2 tracks by himself , called “I dont wanna loose you” and “Broken piecez “ and two collabs on Freenetik’s annual compilation called “Frightening valleys” and “NCB” . More juicy tunes coming soon .
