J.Shore: "Architect's Dream got started from an old draft which I kept on my computer. Building the track was a very architectural process for us - having just the melody and adding layers and layers on it. For the album version we added the piano theme after the breakdown, which also includes one of the most cliche jazz phrases. Cliche or not - it works here brilliantly."

Orion: "Rich (Solarstone) was compiling his Electronic Architecture 2 compilation and asked if we would have any ambient/chill-out tune ready. Architect's Dream was just a very nasty sounding draft at that time but Rich heard the potential and asked us to finish it. It became the closing track of Electronic Architecture 2 and got really nice reviews. The album version is slightly altered with a new piano theme, mixing and the intro vocal."

While working on completing my second album, I needed a break - and so did Miko. While he was asleep, I created a new track to which he happily added the ethereal sounds of his magic violin. 

Actually I think this is going to be a track on and for my 3rd Album which will probably be released in 2016 or 2017. :D

Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds set to release his first Hollywood film score.

Ólafur Arnalds’ original motion picture soundtrack for Sam Levinson’s feature film debut ‘Another Happy Day’, starring Ellen Barkin and Demi Moore, will see a worldwide release via UK modern classical label Erased Tapes Records on February 27, 2012.

‘In mid-December 2010 I was on a holiday in China when I received an email from Sam Levinson about the film. We got on the phone at like 4 in the morning Beijing time and ended up talking all through the night, instantly connecting. He told me that they had been listening to my music while making the film, so the film was already very influenced by my music. However, it was not until Ellen Barkin – the beautiful force that she is – had pestered the producers for a week, calling them every day about how I am the right one for this film, that they finally gave in. The only catch was that it had to be done two weeks later, in the first week of January. So I ended up scoring nonstop all throughout Christmas, making my mother mad in the process.’ - Ólafur Arnalds

Born in the suburban Icelandic town of Mosfellsbær, a few kilometres outside of Reykjavík, the 24-year old composer has always enjoyed pushing boundaries with both his studio work and his live-shows. 'HUMORES I - IV' is a multidisciplinary project by Yvonne Brouwers and composer Arafúra. The starting point for the project is the Humours theory that was developed by ancient Greek doctors Hippocrates of Kos and Claudius Galenus. This theory states that the human form exists out of four main bodily fluids that all have their individual characteristics. These four fluids are each represented by a 'chapter' of life.

These chapters have been the base for four different artworks, as well as four different tracks that each represent a phase of life. The metamorphoses that takes place within these phases is that of human matter. Humores is a project about the substance of the human body, the way it changes, the wonders of coming into existence and eventually returning into nothingness. It's about our flesh, our bones and the blood that runs within us. It's the one thing we all have in common, the way our body evolves and eventually decomposes.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it.
