Stepping onto the scene with an intoxicating signature sound and a spunky, future-focused state of mind, Speaker Honey represents the next generation of dance music. Capturing audiences one by one, Speaker Honey has concocted her unique musical touch throughout her entire life. She’s mastered the art of instruments including violin, piano, guitar, and more, leading her to synthesizers and Ableton, unlocking cutting-edge production at her fingertips. With a penchant for raw, heavy sounds, Speaker Honey channels the doom and gloom of late-night dance floors with fearless, energetic poise.

Though she’s spent years playing in bands and tinkering with countless tools to create her signature touch, Speaker Honey made her introduction through one of dance music’s most notable labels, mau5trap. Her debut single “Shoyu” was released on the label’s 2019 compilation, We Are Friends, Vol. 9, a perfect fit for the diverse, innovative nature of the record. Following her label debut, Speaker Honey has since released a handful of music with mau5trap exclusively, including her Night Visions EP, Super Future EP, and her latest Interrupted EP. 

Armed with a killer discography and a fierce drive to create, Speaker Honey is all about moving forward. Along with her impressive release catalog, Speaker Honey has solidified her status as a performer too, joining direct support for labelmate No Mana’s ‘Secret Something’ tour and performing at the innovative RazerCon 2020 online festival. Speaker Honey’s brand transcends music, too: she debuted her collaboration with Infinite Future Gear in 2020 to represent her cutting-edge eye for fashion. Ōtautahi producer Keanu Raves and his Club Unique crew are proud to present their rawest release to date with the Club Foundation EP.

On CU006, Keanu crafts two peak-hour, hardware-driven floor workouts. ‘Floor Support’ and ‘Rave Infrastructure’ utilize 90s flavoured rave stabs and teeth shattering kicks to create nostalgia inspiring club tools which provide the perfect foundation for a 140bpm journey.

Tāmaki Makaurau correspondent at night steps up with a warped spin on Floor Support which will leave you dizzy in the most satisfying way. Social Sport makes a strong debut for the collective with a mouthwatering acid and breaks remix of Floor Support, and also supplies the cover art. Finally, the talented enigma now known as Malware Md closes out the EP with a beautifully tear-jerking electro take on Rave Infrastructure.

The package was mastered by hometown hero Kamandi to ensure consistent destruction across all dance floors.

We were founded both as a response to the murders of BLACK trans women and women of color and how that is connected to our exclusion from social justice issues, namely racial, gender, and reproductive justice, as well as gun violence.
