Jonathan sent me this lovely music, and for some reason I thought of Fibonacci. Not so much the number sequence, but the guy. The numbers are cool and I love them --a series where each is the sum of the two before: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, and so on. They are meaningful because it turns out these numbers appear disproportionately around us: in math, in our preferences, in nature. Like as depicted in the wonderful illustration that Jonathan found to accompany our tune. So many things end up to be described by the numbers. The beautiful numbers! Count the petals on a flower and the result will likely be one of them. How lovely is that? 
But the guy himself popped up in my head when I heard Jonathan's music. I imagined young Fibonacci --almost a thousand years ago now --looking carefully at everything around him: ruminating, fascinated, entirely distracted. So in love with the mystery of the world. To me that is the essence of romance. Young Fibonacci, madly in love with the world.

yes, friends, the world Has been set afire of late. as the prophet once sayeth: "strange days indeed!"

. in march of 2020, the Secret Caves took a pause, a planned "brief hiatus" that then extended on as things got more and more....  you know. you were there. I saw you there.

BUT in august Carrie and Scott ventured back into Room 8... driven by the need to keep going, to try and make Something happen...  thus, masked and staring across the room at one another, they started making some noise. 

and so! between august and... well, yesterday, C & S have been working up music sketches and ideas down at room 8... some of the songs reflecting on the wolves at the door, others drifting into fantasy worlds full of monsters and sinister revelation, and then also the usual doom gloomy love affairs that one might expect from these two ne'er-do-wells.  using drum bits begged and borrowed from a few friends and allies (including, on several tracks, Cave member Peder!), and then playing some drums themselves along the way (the credo being "whatever gets it done"), Carrie and Scott found themselves with a growing arsenal of demos...   but what to do? here was a large stack of songs with bass guitar and vocals. for awhile, they despaired. what shall we do with all this unfinished songs?

suddenly, various and sundry pals stepped up, instruments leaning over their shoulders as they came whistling down the lane, a veritable rogue's gallery of 15 collaborators who helped finish 'em up, remotely adding keyboards, guitars, synth, lap steel, and yes, even saxophone (some might say Especially saxophone!). it's basically a party and you are invited. step right up, chum o' mine!  we are excited to share these 24 new songs with whoever deigns to listen!  deign, won't you? "Plague City Demos: songs by Carrie & Scott" will be released on our bandcamp page on June 12, with choice cuts also being shared here on Soundcloud.

Sweeping sexual and physical abuses were common and thousands of children died. This is a good time here.  I've had this idea and this song pretty well done for about a year now but until I started doing a few collaborations lately I couldn't find the right opportunity for it.   

This vocal nic @nic_nic_nic put over it is totally opposite, not even opposite, it's in an alternate timeline from where I saw it going, but when I heard it, I thought it fit in a way possibly too cool for me to understand.

This is a track from my soundcloud friend Jan Schonander, which he wrote, performed and released here on soundcloud already some weeks ago.
As he recently asked me, if I could do a N.o.b.S. Version of it, I did not hesitate as I really do like the song.
If you listen to the original, there is a guitar already creating a great atmosphere. 
I wanted to amplify this momentum with my version especially in the second part with heavy rock riffs.
