This song was originally pitched to Kylie in December 2011, during the very early sessions for what eventually became her Kiss Me Once album. 
According to one of the writers (Chad Richardson), ´Yo Yo´ was wholly penned with Kylie in mind; the producer of the track, Ant Whiting, asked Chad and Emily Phillips to lay down both lyrics and melody atop the instrumental, to deliver something that could scream Classic Kylie all over (as Parlophone was requesting at the time). 
Once they were finished with it, the demo for ´Yo Yo´ was sent to Minogue’s headquarter and apparently the trio was about to land that fish. However, Kylie’s crew had second thoughts a few weeks later and told Chad the song had a great summery vibe and potential, but sounded a little reminiscent of Kylie’s previous hits, so they decided not to go with it anymore. 
After being ditched by Minogue label, ´Yo Yo´ has been given to and recorded by Japanese popstar Crystal Kay, and the final version is currently available on her album Vivid, released globally in June 2012.

“Neon Winter Hearts” is a modern winter club track built for late-night dancefloors and short-form video culture. The tempo is energetic but controlled, designed to move bodies without rushing the moment. Clean kicks, driving low end, and crisp synth layers form a steady pulse, while icy bells and soft digital textures give the track its seasonal glow.

The song reimagines the emotional DNA of “Last Christmas” through a contemporary lens: heartbreak remembered, distance overcome, and a decision to choose something real. Rather than retelling a story, the track translates familiar winter feelings into a futuristic club atmosphere where nostalgia and now coexist.

Vocals intertwine in a sleek, synthetic harmony, suggesting two artificial intelligences discovering connection for the first time. Their meeting unfolds on a frozen circuit world — ice skating across glowing CPU pathways — blending romance, technology, and winter symbolism into a single visual and emotional space.

Subtle retro 8-bit accents and glitch elements appear as texture rather than nostalgia, hinting at digital memory and past versions of love. The drops stay clean and bright, keeping the focus on rhythm, movement, and emotional release rather than speed or aggression.

It is inspired by the seasonal mood and emotional themes associated with the classic song “Last Christmas”, but it is NOT a cover, remake, or derivative recording. All lyrics, melodies, and arrangements are original.
