With Minimal Beats, Heavy Distortion, Dark Synths and Dreamy melodies Der Kreis are Melbourne’s latest queer duo delving into the underbelly of Surf Goth/ Dark Wave Pop with an Electronic and Punk sensibility.

Mind Alike is the solo project from Melbourne raised and London based musician Jamie Slocombe. After playing in bands 'Love Outside Andromeda' and 'The Blow Waves' from 1999-2013, Jamie moved from Melbourne to Sydney, Australia. It was whilst living in Sydney that the idea of Mind Alike was created. Born out of Jamie’s passion and desire to stay creative, challenge his songwriting and recording abilities and most importantly, to connect through music, Jamie hit record in late 2013. The resulting debut album, 2018’s 'Ultimo Furlough', took 5 years of trial and error, stops and starts and determination to complete. Recorded across Sydney and Perth, it is the first step, simple, yet honest. Continuing with Mind Alike's follow up 2020 release 'High-Rise Ghosts', where a stronger statement and emerging confidence is found. 2023 saw a triptych release of EP's 1 & 2 followed by LP3. Linking together as two independent EP releases that merged into LP3, the content, lyrically explored poor mental health and the impacts to self and to relationships. This lyrical style has continued into Mind Alike's 2024 EP release 'Interloper', but is also juxtaposed with a heavier electronic instrumentation. Diversifying the 'interloper' not just to relational experiences but to musical experiences as well.
