Grid turns one ! To celebrate our first anniversary, we are happy to release our second compilation with twelve amazing artists from around the world (USA, Japan, Ireland, Mexico, Austria, Slovenia, Switzerland and England, of course). 

Still focused on eclectism, each track is part of a colorful selection ready for a party summer. From experimental opening by K Wata, through bass bangers from Sputnik One, Mafou and Yilan, deep objects by Kincaid, Mistareez and Tristan Arp, engineering techno from Erik Luebs, Christian Kroupa and Fingers of God, to crazy shifted tracks by Nico and Henzo. 

As its musical title evocates, after a heavy loaded first year, we are starting a new loop coming back with a compilation, to go further next.

o•rbyss aims to help soothe the queer spectrum and focus on the well-being of the community. Queer DJs are invited to submit a mix to showcase an alternative side to their music library outside of a rave and take us on a meditative journey. ✨

Notes on the mix:

"I really took o•rbyss' intention of "soothing the queer spectrum" to heart. Opening with one of my gay awakenings in musical form from back in my uni days, this mix is meant as a sapphic balm for body and mind. The overall mood is bathed in 90s nostalgia, inspired by that era of Pure Moods dreaminess and New Age utopian tranquility. Full of silky smooth femme vocals to soothe the soul like an evening caress, and blissed-out downtempo and ambient to have you feeling like you’re floating through the clouds…"

Aquamarine (she/her) is a US-born, London-based DJ whose sound is rooted in an exploration of flow states, the psychedelic experience, and dance floor hypnosis.

Her levitation-inducing sets blend 90s and early 00s trance, blissed-out progressive house, swirling psychedelia, deep organic percussion, and beyond. With her ethereal beats she seeks to unite listeners of all stripes in communal movement and eyes-closed rapture.

With recent debuts including Body Movements, Corsica Studios for Joyride, The Cause, and Dalston Superstore, she is making waves throughout London and beyond. She is the founder of Wet Dreamz at Hackney’s The Glove That Fits, a trance and euphoria rave dedicated to FLINTA* artists and audiences.

Today, we welcome City Pop into the world -  a complementary addition to Mara’s acclaimed album At Every Corner and the first release on Pure Space for 2025.

Created from field recordings gathered during her travels in Java and Bali in late 2024, Mara was hopeful to capture the vibrant street music woven into the fabric of daily life. Yet, as she listened back, these melodies were constantly overwhelmed by the relentless sounds of traffic, construction, and machinery.

In City Pop, Mara leans into this sonic tension, amplifying the distortion and layering to craft a reflective assemblage. The piece questions what is lost beneath the din: what culture, what knowledge, what landscapes erode under the veneer of progress? City Pop is an exploration of the duality between sound and silence, tradition and change.
