To live mindfully the breath is the key, breathe in, breathe out, release the stress and let it all out! This mindful sit is on using skill #1 - Mindful Breathing. While emotions, thoughts, sounds and other experiences come and go like the clouds in the sky, the breath is always here in the now. The more we practice the more we can use this skill throughout our days!

Mindfulness Skill #1- Mindful Breathing by JG

"Using mindful listening, sounds are all around, I use my ears and my heart this moment is found."
Mindfulness is paying attention on purpose to the present moment without judgment. Mindful Listening is skill 2 of 7. The more we tune into sounds the more present we become. This mindful sit will help you become a better listener, and more in tune with the world around you.

Mindfulness Skill #2- Mindful Listening with JG

Mindfulness isn't just paying attention, it's paying attention with heartfulness (love and compassion). In this mindful sit we will be practicing Mindful Skill 4 and learn how to send it to our self and everybody else! "I feel my heart as my love grows, sending heartfulness as my love flows, to me, for me, and everybody I see!"

Mindfulness Skill #4- Heartfulness with JG

What do I feel? Let me see! Where do I feel it? Let me check, let name it, to tame it, and take a mindful breath! Emotions are so powerful and so important. They can make us feel on top of the world or very overwhelmed. In mindfulness we learn to treat each emotion like a good friend. We welcome them and don't judge them. This mindful sit will be to practice this! The more we train our mind, body and heart to welcome our emotions the more we can stay in our upstairs brain (PFC!).

Mindfulness Skill #5- Mindful Emotions with JG

Thoughts. It's what what makes us human. We are so lucky to have them and at the same time they are often one of the main reasons we aren't fully present in the moment. We also often judge our thoughts and that creates the growing "inner critic". In this practice of skill number 6 we will do Mindul Thinking. Training the mind to notice thoughts, what kind of thoughts (past, present or future) and how to use the skill to get back to the present moment with heartfulness. Enjoy!

Yes, gratitude is a powerful mindful skill that helps us see all that we are so lucky to have in this life. From the big things like the Sun, Earth and water to the small things like our favorite toy. The more we focus on what we grateful for if it is family, friends, school, sports, art, music, food, etc, the more we improve our mental and emotional health. Enjoy this mindful sit!
