Dutch producers Mindmapper & Fre4knc team up to deliver the 'Martial Manners' EP in celebration of Translation Recordings' tenth vinyl release, which comes on a visually stunning piece of crystal & transparent white vinyl! Up first is 'Collessius,' whose heavy-rolling bassline rushes in with the force of a tsunami, leaving a wake of dancefloor destruction in its path. 'Shutter Angel' is a futuristic track where tight, snappy breakbeats slingshot back and forth between an electrifying bassline that surges across the airwaves like a beam of focused energy. Mindmapper & Fre4knc delve into darker territories on 'Fenryr,' whose gritty atmospherics and subterranean low frequencies deliver a unique and immersive listening experience. They close the EP on a deep, meditative note with 'Mind of Steel' (digital only) where drum edits slice through growling bass riffs with blade-like precision. NEUROPUNK RECORDS takes a retrospective for their latest release, reimagining a selection of tracks from their past releases for the first entry in their NEUROPUNK REMIXED series. Featuring original tracks drawn from the catalogues of NEUROPUNK RECORDS heavyweights including Mizo, Gydra, & Teddy Killerz, and reimagined by Joe Ford, Levela, & Crissy Criss, NEUROPUNK REMIXED V1 delivers a trio of tracks that span a wide portion of the Drum & Bass world for the label’s first such collaborative effort. 

JOE FORD steps up first to add his spin to MIZO’s sinister MECHANICAL PAW, wherein he wastes no time in unleashing an unending torrent of lashing low end frequencies that send the already furious track into an expertly overdriven frenzy. Next comes LEVELA’s remix of GYDRA & TEDDY KILLERZ’ track MILES HIGH from the label’s standout first release. Playing up the tracks funk fueled flow, the stripped back swagger of LEVELA’s signature style shines through to create a deviously dirty down low groove driven by the original’s unmistakeable vocal sample. CRISSY CRISS then takes on TEDDY KILLERZ’ MUTATION for the EP’s final remix, holding nothing back as he experiments on the track’s already massive basses to create devastating reeses and electrified stabs alike as he synthesizes a new form further befitting of its name.

With NEUROPUNK REMIXED V1, NEUROPUNK RECORDS showcase the full breadth of their label’s scope as they invite three pioneering artists to reinterpret a selection of the label’s most notable tracks. Having over 30 releases out there on many different labels, soundaddict Rogier Habraken a.k.a. Mindmapper lost his status as "new-comer" long ago. Thanks to support of many keyfigures within the scene, he has laid down a solid foundation for the future. Backed up by many gigs, residencies and appearances on events, radioshows and festivals in both the Netherlands and abroad. Next to that he's co-owner of Break-Fast Audio, sound designer and mix engineer for Dutch broadcasting and has a curating duty for the online music discovery service 22tracks.com.

Coming from a background of working with bands, playing piano, double bass and electric guitar for many years and building his own studio, Mindmapper has got all the musical skills a producer might want. What started out as recording and arranging songs played by his band, evolved in a serious affection for cutting, sampling and composing electronic music. Combined with his education as an Audio Designer, Mindmapper is a musical mastermind whose style expands way beyond just Drum & Bass. 

It's hard to describe his broad spectrum of productions in few words but one can find all sort of influences ranging from techno to rock and dub to classical. His tunes and collabarations tend to explore the "boundaries" of the genre and have been spotted, not surprisingly, by a broad audience. Support comes from Loxy, Doc Scott, Hazard, Hype, Octane & DLR, D-Kay, Bailey, Fabio, Consequence, Gremlinz, June Miller amongst many others. With material forthcoming on Samurai Music, Dispatch, Eternia Music, Soundium X, Creative Wax and CX, 2013 looks bright.
