Smizzy and Forbes met through mutual friend Chance Waters, who was recording demos for Forbes in his studio at the time. Prior to this connection the two had heard each other on the grapevine but only crossed paths briefly at a Pez show years earlier. Had they known then that in 2 years time they would be living together in a run down mansion in Roseville and working constantly on an EP and mixtape - then they would probably be psychics, not stone cold lyricists. 

Smizzy, formally Smiles Again of Mind Over Matter, is a don of his craft and is seen by many as one of the countries strongest lyricists. Forbes is one of the most highly anticipated up and comers in Australia and has arguably one of the tightest flows in the country. After weeks of thought and careful planning the duo came up with a name that reflected both their boundless creativity and their willingness to think outside the box - they called themselves Smizzy & Forbes.

All the Same (feat. Emma Beau) is the lead single from the duos forthcoming EP Made in Rose Village. Emma, a Sydney local and friend of the group both leads and closes the track with angelic and emotive vocals reminiscent of the saddest moment in your favourite Lana Del Rey slow jam. Smizzy and Forbes trade hyped rap verses bookended by the contrastingly soft tones of live piano and sung vocals. The boys wanted this song to feel like listeners were on a rollercoaster of highs, lows, swings and turns. 

Produced by Steeve Body and Tauese (T) Tofa at 301 Studios, the beat sounds something like the lovechild of Timbaland's drums and Flume's synth tones. Tribal sounding high energy rhythmic sections are complimented by manipulated synth lines and the two offer the perfect backdrop for the friends to trade high energy verses. An exciting debut for a much anticipated duo. Made in Rose Village is scheduled for independent release in early 2016.

Released 3 albums in hip hop outfit Mind Over Matter, released 2 EP's under the name Smiles Again, and worked and written with just about everyone in the Australian music scene. Smizzy's debut solo album titled 'The Cover' was released in April 2017.
