Paco Osuna's record label Mindshake welcomes a collaborative EP from DJ Fronter and Julian Collazos who have previously worked together to showcase their upbeat brand of stripped back tech house on Hottrax and Circus Recordings.
Based in Colombia, DJ Fronter has a fascination with tribal percussion and Latin grooves. Mixing those influences with electronic beats, he creates groove heavy tracks that are perfect for the dance floor.
One of the artists leading the South American scenes next generation, DJ Fronter is a popular headliner at clubs and festivals across the region. He is also known internationally for his top-selling tracks on labels that range from Toolroom to Hot Creations.
Julian Collazos is also a Colombian artist who is a popular DJ in his home country and other parts of South America. He is also a talented solo producer known for his releases on respected labels such as Stereo Productions, Roush and Material.
Each of the artists have provided a solo track for the EP along with their collaborative cut, which opens the release in a vibrant style that's full of charisma and Latino flair.
The guys collaborative track "Notorious" opens the release with its hip-hop inspired vocal sample and stabbing piano riff. Track two "You" by DJ Fronter is a stripped back and techy cut with a distinctive and soulful vocal, and track three is a dub version for those who like dark and hypnotic grooves. Julian Collazos' solo track "Yourself" closes out the release with its rubbery acid-line, explosive vocal samples and jackin' percussion rhythms.

Loughness is the first track, strong minimal beat with hypnotic and minimal sounds, pitch vocals, with great break and superpowerful and punch drop will surprise you. 

Bizen Lopez turns it over and takes it to his ground. This time focus the track to the club sound, perfect for the dance floor adding some vocals, snares and with a less dark tonality than the original, cool sound make this a great remix.

Finally Stroby Range is the second original. It is a 100%% minimal second track, breaks with lowered vocals, delays, envelopes and a drop that you don't expect ready to surprise. Next up with their debut release on Hot Creations’ sister label Emerald City are former college roommates Josh Taylor and Justin Jay. An energetic track full of bounce and edgy samples, Pussy Pop is an ideal addition to the label’s young venture. Bringing his signature dance floor rhythm, Jamie Jones has delivered high quality on the remix with a fun acompaniament to the original.
 
Josh Taylor began his musical career in his hometown of St Louis, Missouri. Starting out as an acoustic pop artist strumming at his ukulele and songwriting, his laid back attitude (and discovery of nightclubs) led him down a path of exploration through music genres. His unique approach to writing hooks and basslines is apparent across the board, from his band The Cozy Boys to his previous collaboration with Justin Jay on the exceptional Fantastic Voyage album.
 
In response to how the two of them came to collaborate, Justin answered “When we were roommates in college, Josh opened me up to the world of singing and songwriting through his jams on the ukulele while I started dragging him to clubs and warehouse parties. He inspired me to take a stab at my own singing/songwriting and I pushed him to try DJing/production.” 
 
The head of his own label Fantastic Voyage and one of the youngest producers to release on Dirtybird, Justin has already seen success that extends beyond his years. With an array of fruitful releases under his belt, the LA based producer/DJ has received support from the likes of Claude VonStroke and Disclosure, boasting “Future Star” recognition by the influential Pete Tong. Justin manifests his soul, funk and jazz routes in a forward-thinking manner that yields his unmistakable house tracks.

Hot on the heels of Clarisse's class of 2018 headed by Cristian Merino and Eddy M, Italian architect Ario instructs to 'Turn the Light On', a cunning ploy where the last thing you want is for anything to interrupt your optimum dancefloor darkness. The man behind the Fontek label has stamped his science across a label spread of Glasgow Underground, Sanity, Noexcuse and High Pressure, and arrives at Clarisse intent on tightening the screw.

Seven and a half minutes of a pulsating synth line breaking free from the laboratory, tailor made for extended breakdowns and threatening to leave the dancefloor in a cloud of smoke: that's the core of 'Turn the Light On'. Resolute beats don't back down when barged into by bursts of hip-hop boasters wearing sharp disco strings around their neck, and Ario's undeviating focus will put paid to part timers and those on curfew.

On the remix are Fancy Inc, who posted the 'That Records' EP on Clarisse in 2016. As straight to the point as its predecessor, getting shuffling bass to push the party on from down in the mix and creating an itch that you can't help go back to, the Brazilians are muscular yet pretty nimble in finding a prime palm tree to party under. Ushering handclaps, percussive bounce and twist, that synth line pinging like a neon rubber band, and releases of built up energy in all the right places, put a cocktail in the hand of those whose veins are bulging.

We welcome two new members to the Saved family this month in the form of Argentinian DJ and producer, Jay De Lys and Scottish DJ and producer, Jamie Roy, who present their ‘Savorlatino’ EP. Between them the pair have released on respected labels; Toolroom, Kaluki, Repopulate Mars and Lost Records and have gathered the respect of DJ’s far and wide, most notably, Solardo, Lee Foss, Leftwing : Kody and Marco Carola as well as playing at shows across the globe. Their debut EP kicks off with title track, ‘Savorlatino’ which combines a deep bass groove with soulful chords, delicate vocals and playful drums. ‘Loveland’ completes the EP, enticing listeners with its complex percussive rhythms, rise and fall bass line, expertly manipulated chopped vocal samples and intricate synth patterns.
