I just discovered Mind Tree last week, and he is already one of my favorite artists. His main album is a soundtrack for a game called Element4l. I don’t know much about the game, but the soundtrack alone makes me want to play it. He has a very unique style to his music. It feels like you are in a surreal toy infested world. His song “Paxton” does an excellent job creating that environment. The combination of a glockenspiel sounding melody with, gears winding up as if it was a windup toy, and the occasional child’s laugh just adds to the atmosphere. His work is something that you can listen to over and over and still have the same surreal experience. Another one of his songs “Close Your Eyes So You Can See” is an excellent simplistic song that also seems to transport you to another world. There is something unique about his song that makes it feel light and dreamy, but hidden inside is something dark. I highly suggest checking out all of his music, and maybe he will become a favorite of yours, too.

The opening track for i-illusion's "Element4l" original soundtrack. I'd been sitting on this one for around two or three years. Once Dirk approached me with his vision for Element4l I knew it had finally found its place!
