Pfirter is back with the third release on his new MindTrip imprint, aided by Jonas Kopp, Dimi Angelis & Jeroen Search, and Developer! Spread across 4 tracks, this diverse EP will strike a chord with fanatics of modular synthesis and old school techno. Pfirter's own 'Ahora' may be the most intense track released on the label so far. A nice combination of solid 'marching-style' drums and staccato raves stabs lays down the basis for peak-time destruction. When the time comes to crank it up to 11, this would be a great place to start. Developer makes a guest appearance by remixing the title track of the last EP, 'The Fall of the Empire is Imminent.' If empire does indeed crumble, it wouldn't be hard to imagine this dystopian-tinged remix making for the perfect soundtrack. Jonas Kopp's take of Ahora forgoes the big-room and gloomy antics of the A side for something more cerebral and slightly more psychedelic. The result is an 8-minute trip that takes you to the abyss while retaining the trademark Jonas Kopp sound. This is essential for the twilight hours. Dimi Angelis and Jeroen Search close out the EP with a jam that lies somewhere in between old school and sci-fi tinged techno that dominated in the `90s. Gone are the breakdowns and the excess frills of the 21 st century. This is pure machine funk for the die hard purists.

B1 - Ahora (Jonas Kopp Remix)

If you like your techno bruised and bleeding, you’d have taken note of Manchester’s AnD. Over the last few years they’ve been making their presence known with a series of unbridled releases for labels like Horizontal Ground, Black Sun Records, Repitch Recordings and their own self-titled stable. “Harder” has indeed been the duo’s mantra, bellowed stony-faced from the rasping recedes of industrial’s brittle outer rim. But it hasn’t always been this way. Before the broken bones and caustic, pitch-black tear-outs there’s been deep and dubby reprieves, techy dubstep and even washed-out drum and bass on the likes of Idle Hands, Project Squared and Hidden Hawaii all with equaled astuteness.

It’s clear there’s little out of AnD’s reach, and they’re certainly not bowing down to anyone. ‘Kundalini’ then, AnD’s debut EP for Electric Deluxe, is not something to be taken lightly. The EP opens with a trio of patented AnD-style monsters, cataclysmic techno siblings all venomous and rusted through. It’s a dark and unforgiving trail with these guys as drill sergeant, until “ICDBYC” that is. Not quite the calm before the storm, here we have AnD pull back from the bloody onslaught to turn a cleaner, more calculated sort of weapon. Cool and tactical shadow skulking, trimmed with IDM. This one is just as deadly!

AnD - The Jellyfish

It's all in the title. Party Music. I Like To Talk is a hard groove with a weird, and wired, vocal sample. Whose wasted? The guy speaking or you listening? Keep It Down is another kicking groove. What's the girl mean? Her words are clear enough. Is she talking to me? Moonlight has a lighter touch with an off beat skanking feel. We're feeling nice. Don't Give Up is a transition track taking things up close to peak time. Denite works these grooves with aplomb.

Dutch legend and Wolfskuil inner circle member Benny Rodrigues returns to the label for a fresh twelve. In the DJ booth he has no equal and established himself as one of the world’s premier selectors. Besides his ominous DJ skills, Benny has been making waves in the studio the last couple of years as well. Wether it be as ROD or under his own name, respected imprints worldwide have embraced and released his productions with eagerness. Klockworks, CLR, Drumcode and Desolat are just a few of the labels he can call home now.

Wolfskuil wouldn’t be Wolfskuil if we didn’t pick the ‘odd one’ of the litter. The Choice Is Mine might be the most freaked out & modulated excersize Benny has yet to unleash upon the world. No 4 bars in this mental trip are the same, ever evolving around a sequence that brings old 90’s warehouse techno to mind. 

A peaktime monster like this deserves a royal rework. Berghain resident, Dystopian head honcho and man of the moment Rødhåd happily agreed to give his own and unique vision on the original. The result is stunning, psychedelic and with a little unexpected surprise in the final part of his remix and compliments the original in a perfect. Another Gem in our catalogue, we hope you will enjoy this as much as we do!

MindTrip music, Founded by Pfirter 2006. 
Reinvented and relaunched in 2012 under the new name MindTrip.

MindTrip Music was the creation of Buenos Aires born Juan Pablo Pfirter in 2006. The digital-only label acted as a springboard for upcoming Argentinian artists and of course, Pfirter himself, introducing those talents to the rest of the world. Over the years, the fledgling label allowed Juan Pablo the ability to experiment and play with music, sounds and textures and develop his own sense of direction and focus. Collaborating and drawing influence and experience from fellow MindTrip Music artists like Jonas Kopp, Flug, Markus Suckut, Psyk and Monoloc, both the label and Pfirter grew in symbiotic proportion. But after 6 years and 48 releases, Pfirter felt the need for change.

Having released on CLR, Stockholm LTD, Stroboscopic Artefacts & Figure, Pfirter’s brand of hypnotic music has touched dancers and listeners the world over. Not only limited to the clubs, Pfirter’s productions have delved deep into the experimental side too. This is the focus and framework of the new label. 
Juan Pablo reinvented and relaunched the MindTrip imprint, showcasing the full degree of his sound. The label changed its name from MindTrip Music to
just MindTrip, releasing vinyl as well as digital utilising a bespoke artwork profile.
