Regular provider of top-tier techno labels including REKIDS, Transmat, Klockworks, Dystopian et al., multi-faceted US-born, Berlin-based artist Jon Hester is an avid explorer of the uncharted, and equally clever boundary-pusher at that (his diptych album for Matt Edwards’ imprint, “Converge”, is there to attest). Blazing his own lane outside normative boxes and freak-controlled categories of sound, Hester much rather indulges in hybridising and upcycling so-called tropes to freshen our vision and expand our horizons. His RYC transmission oozes just that, while traversed by his ever deft touch for carving out momentums any raver would be hard-pressed to resist.

Bio:
Takaaki was quickly impressed and intrigued by the new sound of Techno, that hit Japan hard in the early 1990s. It was something he had never heard before.  In 1994 Takaaki began to organize his own techno parties in his home of northern Japan.  By providing an interesting lineups, his parties quickly became a success. 
In 1996, having decided that it was time to start making his own tracks, Takaaki Itoh emerged to purchase the vital instruments to begin production.  After sending out three finished projects to various labels, Majesty from US and Electracom from UK was fortunate enough to put Takaaki‘s first material out.  This moment was something he will never forget, as he was finally able to hear his own music on vinyl. Several releases followed with Electracom as his tracks began to appear in magazine DJ charts in well known DJs from around the world. In 2000, Takaaki Itoh made his European DJ debut in Slovakia.  People recognized his own style. Later he was becoming recognized as Japan's most underground and respected techno DJ. 
As of 2001 he was getting offers to perform at large clubs and festivals all over Europe, including Cosmic Trip and Svojsice in the Czech Republic, The Darkside in England, MTW in Germany, Awakenings and Reactor in Holland, Mayday and Sziget in Hungary, La Real and Code in Spain, U.Club and Boomerang in Slovakia, Projekt in Belgium, as well as events in Brasil, Columbia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Portugal, Serbia. Slovenia.. Takaaki Itoh took the next step and with Brano of Standa started his own label Wols.
By 2005 Takaaki Itoh has released over 50 original productions on many different european labels like Sheep, Tsunami, Warm Up, Theory, MB Selektions, Integrale Muzique, PVC, etc. Recently he released EPs or remixes on Planet Rhythm, 1962, Modularz, Shaded, Grey Report, Dyad, Gynoid Ltd, Limited,...

February's episode on the MindTrip Podcast welcomes Swedish techno icon Joel Mull. Joel is one of the main artists who pushed Stockholm's underground scene forward since the mid '90s. He is among the very few who believed that techno would be the music of tomorrow and he clearly proved that with his musical career over the last two decades releasing numerous albums and EPs with his percussive signature sound on labels like Harthouse, Truesoul, Parabel, Dystopian while showcasing his DJing skills at the biggest clubs all over the world. Today Joel is finishing his new album that will be soon released on the label A Strangely Isolated Place under his alias Damm. MindTrip music, Founded by Pfirter 2006. 
Reinvented and relaunched in 2012 under the new name MindTrip.

MindTrip Music was the creation of Buenos Aires born Juan Pablo Pfirter in 2006. The digital-only label acted as a springboard for upcoming Argentinian artists and of course, Pfirter himself, introducing those talents to the rest of the world. Over the years, the fledgling label allowed Juan Pablo the ability to experiment and play with music, sounds and textures and develop his own sense of direction and focus. Collaborating and drawing influence and experience from fellow MindTrip Music artists like Jonas Kopp, Flug, Markus Suckut, Psyk and Monoloc, both the label and Pfirter grew in symbiotic proportion. But after 6 years and 48 releases, Pfirter felt the need for change.

Having released on CLR, Stockholm LTD, Stroboscopic Artefacts & Figure, Pfirter’s brand of hypnotic music has touched dancers and listeners the world over. Not only limited to the clubs, Pfirter’s productions have delved deep into the experimental side too. This is the focus and framework of the new label. 
Juan Pablo reinvented and relaunched the MindTrip imprint, showcasing the full degree of his sound. The label changed its name from MindTrip Music to
just MindTrip, releasing vinyl as well as digital utilising a bespoke artwork profile.
