cRème 007: Fernanda Martins

For the past fifteen years Argentinian-born, Barcelona-based producer Juan Pablo Pfirter has been pushing a sound by turns steely, dark and uplifting, true to the founding principles of the techno tetramorph but eager to throw his own vanguard, personal touch into the mix.

From the early days onward, whether expressing himself via DJing, producing or as a label owner, Pfirter has worked his magic with focus and style, gracing the likes of CLR, Figure, Mord and Stroboscopic Artefacts with choice singles whilst headlining some of the most respected electronic music bastions and events including Berghain, Tresor, Concrete, Awakenings and Time Warp. Ever since he embarked on his first European tour back in 2005, Juan Pablo has worked tirelessly at shaping one of the most idiosyncratic sounds in contemporary electronic music. It’s a sound which combines the heavy thump of stadium-sized kicks with textured organic relief and hypnotic sub-bass motifs a thousand listens couldn’t diminish.

2006 saw the birth of Pfirter Own imprint, MindTrip, which has become one of the brightest beacons in the ever-changing techno landscape.The label serves as both a vessel for his own output and that of his close friends and collaborators, including luminaries such as Jonas Kopp, Stanislav Tolkachev, Dold, Kashpitzky, Oliver Rosemann and Flug. In parallel, MindTrip has also flourished through its monthly podcast series, welcoming the likes of Antigone, The Lady Machine, TWR72, Nørbak, Jeroen Search and more exciting, singular artists, all invited to present an session of music that captures the spirit and values of MindTrip.

Dario Duegra is a spanish Barcelona-based producer, dj and curator. Music wise he is characterized for his love for sculpting immersive sonic experiences on evolving journeys. Mixing hypnotic, cerebral sounds, he creates a seamless voyage where every track contributes to the narrative. From pulsating basslines to ethereal synths, each element builds anticipation, leading to euphoric crescendos. It's about the seamless fusion, the subtle transitions that blur the lines between one sound and the next.

He runs NODE Recordings which encompasses event series and record label. Since its inception, seven years ago, the events serve as immersive experiences, where attendees are transported on mesmerizing sonic voyages that delve into the depths of consciousness. MindTrip Music was the creation of Buenos Aires born Juan Pablo Pfirter in 2006. The digital-only label acted as a springboard for upcoming Argentinian artists and of course, Pfirter himself, introducing those talents to the rest of the world. Over the years, the fledgling label allowed Juan Pablo the ability to experiment and play with music, sounds and textures and develop his own sense of direction and focus. Collaborating and drawing influence and experience from fellow MindTrip Music artists like Jonas Kopp, Flug, Markus Suckut, Psyk and Monoloc, both the label and Pfirter grew in symbiotic proportion. But after 6 years and 48 releases, Pfirter felt the need for change.

Having released on CLR, Stockholm LTD, Stroboscopic Artefacts & Figure, Pfirter’s brand of hypnotic music has touched dancers and listeners the world over. Not only limited to the clubs, Pfirter’s productions have delved deep into the experimental side too. This is the focus and framework of the new label. 
Juan Pablo reinvented and relaunched the MindTrip imprint, showcasing the full degree of his sound. The label changed its name from MindTrip Music to
just MindTrip, releasing vinyl as well as digital utilising a bespoke artwork profile.
